In my area most McDonald’s are not very barefoot friendly. There is a McDonald’s near my office and the other day I wanted a break from the office and a sandwich. I went to the McDonald’s near my office, I was wearing my slides to avoid any conflict. I ordered my meal
And proceeded to the corner booth in the back, the restaurant was nearly empty and nobody in the back. Once seated I slide the shoes off to relax while eating my lunch. I was answering emails and text on my phone when I saw someone approaching out of the corner of my eye, it was the manager. I saw she was looking at my feet so again not wanting conflict I slide my feet into my shoes and said “ sorry, I guess I got too comfortable “ she then smiled and said “ you are fine” I want my guest to be comfortable “ and assured me it was okay. We had a brief conversation and she revealed she only wears shoes when at work. It was a very positive experience.

I’m glad you had a positive experience and it went well. I go to Burger King and Wendy’s barefoot all the time one time at a Wendy’s the manager said I couldn’t be barefoot there so I never went back to that one. How stupid they just lost future sales

Here in Australia I have never been to a McDonald's, KFC or any other "fast food" outlet that has had a problem with customers being barefoot. It's just not an issue and very common, especially the closer the store is to the beach.

Also I should say that we have very little of this "no shirt, no shoes, no service" BS. It is starting to creep in a bit, usually along the lines of "shoes required". I have noticed it at one branch of our major hardware store (Bunnings), one liquor shop and that was easily fixed....I never went there again as they have numerous branches that don't do that BS!

Most, if not all, shopping centres and major stores have no issues with you being barefoot.

Your area of the country sounds like a barefooter's kind of place! Do you know any others?

I'm definitely envious of people who live places where they can go barefooted and not be hassled!
