As for why the mayans "think the world is gonna end in 2012" my answer to that is that they simply didn't give a fuck what would happen after 2012, 2000 years ago.

That's like saying thoughts or dreams dont exist because only conscious beings have them and cant touch them physically.

if the mayan emperor gave the order to stop needlessly calculating the heavens because they were thousands of years ahead of themselves, then thats what they did. I mean, if you were paid to calculate the sunrise/sunset times in the future, and got paid to do it, would you stop if not fired?
