knowing a couple muslims doesn't give you supreme knowledge and certainly doesn't mean your blanket statements are valid i know some muslim people as well and they feel hurt by this campaign
Ok, which statements exactly are wrong. And that was the most obvious lie ever. You know Muslims and THIS campaign offends them? If you really know any Muslims, and know them well enough to talk to them, ask if they think it's a bad thing for people to poke fun at muhammad. (I appoligise if that was a true statment, but it just looks ridiculous.)
Ions are essential to life. Sodium, potassium, calcium and other ions play an important role in the cells of living organisms, particularly in cell membranes. They have many practical, everyday applications in items such as smoke detectors, and are also finding use in unconventional technologies such as ion engines. Inorganic dissolved ions are a component of total dissolved solids, an indicator of water quality in the world A collection of non-aqueous gas-like ions, or even a gas containing a proportion of charged particles, is called a plasma, often called the fourth state of matter because its properties are quite different from solids, liquids, and gases. Astrophysical plasmas containing predominantly a mixture of electrons and protons, may make up as much as 99.9% of visible matter in the universe... Matter That Matters most is the matter most are not interested... religions were invented because the Salves failed when they left with Moses.. The power of the Sun is in you..but you would rather draw cartoons and fight among yourselves.. Enlightenment begins when you turn your light on in your mind.. And let go of Earthly desires..
I just dont agree with doing something intentionally that you KNOW is blasphemous to another group. And you never cease to amaze me, squirrelman.
I would agree with that, if you're doing it for no reason. I think that this (maybe not specificly) is something that needs to be done, because freedom of speech cannot be controled. If one group gets to set the standard, then we're going to end up in 1984. One group can't set the standard for speech any more than one person can. But we're never going to agree, so its best to just drop it.
Its not the radical muslims that censored southpark anyways. They were one of the reasons it was censored, but it was the people at comedy central that committed the act. Why not draw cartoons about them?

It looks like the people in this thread, on both sides of the fence, are greatly blowing this whole ordeal out of proportion. Much like the many commenters on the "Draw Muhammad Day" facebook page. According to the creator of the facebook group this is the reason she created "Draw Muhammad Day:" "Why did I create this event? I saw the fantastic cartoon now shown on this page, and thought it was a very nice (and polite + respectful) way of making the point that while Mohammed might well have insisted that he not be depicted by Muslims (to prevent idol worship), there are plenty of non-Muslims who value freedom of expression -- and that we can all live together with mutual respect." There is little here about terrorists, or hate..and overall I find her message very peaceful, but more importantly..LOGICAL. This event originally had nothing to do with 'putting it to the Muslims!' It did not encourage anything offensive, or hateful. Look at the original drawing. It is not hateful at all. The message behind this event was not "LETS DRAW MUHAMMAD GETTING ASS FUCKED!" (like I saw someone mention, which is incredibly stupid and offensive), the message behind this event was ultimately to push freedom of expression for EVERYONE equally, and reminding Muslims that yes, the depiction of Muhammad is definitely not "halal" for Muslims...but what about the non Muslims? We do not live by the laws, dogma, and doctrine of Islam..so we have the right to express ourselves and anything around us as we choose. Unfortunately, leave it to humans to fuck this up. On one side..we have hateful bigots drawing offensive sexual, perverted images of Muhammad, and on the other side..we have ultra libs screaming about how this whole thing is hateful...I even saw someone here refer to this whole ordeal as something an "asshole American" would do (or something along those lines...). Both parties completely overlooking the original intent and message of this event. Remember, not everything is so black and white. This whole situation being a perfect example of a complete gray area. I, personally, thought the idea was wonderful. Showing the extremist Muslim world that while we not only completely acknowledge the rules and regulations of their religion, and respect them, we do not have to abide by them, and also that despite their bullying...we will continue with our human right to freedom of expression. Something that may not be tolerated in some of their countries, but is tolerated to a great extent in our own. Before I marked "attending" I had a look at some of the comments..and they were eerily similar to the messages in this thread. People spewing their disgust for Islam (probably without ever knowing a Muslim), and people crying their (pardon me for using this term, but I found that it fit this situation best) "white girl tears." The utter stupidity displayed from both sides had me mark "not attending." /edit. I also wanted to add that I found it kind of funny that some people seem to be so outraged at the idea of drawing a picture. Yet I have seen them express no outrage at the idea of murdering someone..for drawing a picture.
I skipped a few pages, so, I may have missed it..but...I dont think anyone ever stated or implied that anyone was better than anyone else. In fact, the whole point of this "Draw Muhammad Day" was to show that not only are we all equal, and have our own perspectives and opinions...but that we can EXPRESS those things also.
