I’ve know a few people in the military and a couple of people that went to war and they told me some fucked up stories about the army..

I would be surprised about anything that happens, a lot of things happen that the military decides they don’t need word of it leaking out and…

Also would be so depressing to be involved in killing families and children that would be hard to live with, I could see how the suicide rate is high.

It is always strange to see these gunho guys go off to war and be a hero and come back depressed and disillusioned.

 

Crystal meth, photoshop, camera lights and makeup the consumer world is so glamorous.

 

How is that strange? True, we're a belligerent species to begin with, but it's not in everyone's nature to kill, especially without good reason. Even some of the most gungho troops are enlightened. Some of my best friends and drinking buddies in the Pacific theater were special forces guys out of Okinawa. They were trained to rappel silently out of balloons and helicopters and kill anything that moved. but they were nice, intelligent men and women, very educated and genteel. When they weren't training. But you could sit at a bar with them and discuss Plato and DaVinci while you got 'faced on cheap beer.

I hate to think of what became of them. I'm sure some of trained well but didn't fare so well in the aftermath.

 

Maybe strange is a bad description but it is just a drastic change.

I think what is bad about people going to Iraq is they are a repressive police force fighting in a city. When people went to other wars like WWII they were liberating heroes in the public view and they were killing other men not kicking in family doors and knocking the shit out of dads in front of their kids.

The level of real fighting in Iraq is pathetic more people were killed by gunfire in Chicago over the summer the Americans in Iraq.

Sit around and eat ice cream watch TV and then go terrorize families that’s gotta put a damper on the warrior ego.

I think alot of people in this thread are missing the whole 21 people committed suicide together aspect of the article. Thats a death count up there with the Hale-Bop cultists. I think we can all agree war makes decent men do evil things, and some men/women are gonna take a quick way out over years of regret, but 21 together? thats a bit far fetched.

I did a news search and haven’t seen any reliable news places posting this news.

Just Aljeezrs with a bunch of anti American propaganda attached to it, so it seems like it originated from there and a bunch of conspiracy theory sites are going with it.

I just don’t trust Aljeezrs to have reliable inside info on American scandals.

Won’t surprise me but I’m just not buying it, I think the gov would stage a better painting then mass suicide.
