And Now !!!!! How can i thank you enough for all of that ???

I do not know what to say ??? How Nobel of you ? how nice ? i do not know how to thank you enough.

Mars has difficulty functioning here on the natives behalf unless it is received. Although hellenistic sources did not consider detriment, Mars is said to be in detriment here according to medieval sources. In any case, because Mars is not liked by Venus. How crule of her. bad girl., all what i did is touching her, she was a new creature, and strangly soft ?! She slapped me !!!! very crule - Astonished i was, not by the slap, but with my inability to hurt her - me the God of War !! strange strange ...

Hey: But her first & favorite lover was Ares (Aries) ? I,m really proud about that ! Yeaaah ! that little naughty girl had a good taste after all :)

it has a difficult time when in this sign. Mars nature is forceful and direct, but Venus is tactful and refined. As a result, the native may be slowed down by obstacles and limitations, causing them to be slow to act. There is likely to be considerable frustration because Venus is slow to respond to Mars requests. These two planets have much to do with sexual relations, but with Mars placed in this setting there can be jeolousy, stubbornness, power and mind games.

Absouloutly right, always felt like a savage when around Taurus ladies, they attact me, try to make compliments, they understand it wrongly (maybe it is my language), then jeolousy (she started it), stubbornness, power and mind games(many by her only), by the time they decide they like me, i'm off, but hell they are very attractive strange soft lovely sexy NEW creatures ! (just imaging my self like Ares did) :)

In a diurnal chart, Mars becomes even more difficult to control as the appetites are only amplified. The native is especially willful against considerable opposition. Men with this position often feel like nothing they do will matter, that they are continually banging their head against a wall. Venus or Jupiter witnessing Mars here will help make things more pleasant. In a nocturnal chart, the cold and moist of night alleviate some of the frustration of the natives actions. Mars becomes more placid and controled and the actions are more considered and thoughtful.

well, it describes exactly what happened between myself and a Taurus lady not so long ago,by the time she made her mind, was already in some other relation, feeling humulated a little by Venus decided to play the hard to get(wish i did not), yet there was that strange very strong type of trust & lust between us, and the wish to help each other. why they have to be that slow ?!!! hell right, and even i started to be more soft and nice. yeeekh.

They usually are not the type of people to take on too many projects at once.

Although an Aries - truth is prefer to concentrate on one thing a time - hate to admit it.

It is almost impossible to get these people moving once they've made up their minds on a matter. Immovable is the only way to describe Mars in Taurus people who have made up their minds. Adaptability is not their strong point.

What they think of us: a feather ????? strange people.

In a similar vein, attempting to rush Mars in Taurus people is a lesson in frustration. They won't alter their pace for most anything.

Why should we ??? very strange people.

If you can get past these "quirks", however, you'll find that Mars in Taurus natives are often quite reliable and strong personalities. It may just be worth the wait!

Yeaaaahhhhhhhh, we gooooooooooood.and we will be romantic with our partners for the next 100 years only. after that it gets a little kind of boring thing.

Much of the history of slavery in the modern world and Civil Rights involving African Americans in the United States has played out while Mars traveled through Taurus.

Well i'm aginst slavery, but Harem is another story, isn't it ?

delighted to be in Venus' chambers, takes his shoes off and dons his finest slippers and a silk smoking jacket: He's capable of his very best behavior.

Yeeeeh, we love to be there - indeed, and we do not want to upset that little nice creature, we must behave ourselves - no problem - it is worth the trouble. are we clever or what ?

At his best, he's elegant and enduring--but at his worst, Mars in Taurus is the ultimate connoisseur of cruelty.

Right again, but the negative things happen rarely - i hope.

    Melodi - Thanks.

PS: i relaized that: "Generally calm and easygoing people, Mars in Taurus natives can have powerful tempers when they're overly provoked. They generally don't fly off the handle as quickly as others, however (unless Aries is prominent in their chart). <---- hehe, just for the aries man!"

    I hate you Melodi :bigcry:

If I could add one point.

Yes Mars is the detriment of Taurus, but the peak of this is between the 26th and 30th degrees.

I have a mutual reception, but it is unusual. I have Mars in Taurus and Venus in Aries. They both fall in the social 11th house, and are both in their detriment nataly but in their rulership by mutual reception. Venus is completely hard aspected, and Mars is completely soft aspected. I know what it means in my heart because it is part of me. It strikes me as a bit odd though. I heard in books that both planets will work in a possitive way even though in detriment. Any thoughts? I will explain what I think about it as I go along. Also Venus is in Uranus' natural house, and uranus is in the 5th house of fun and games. Lot's of opposites wouldn't you say? Not to mention the moon in the first house in Cancer squaring both.

Your ignorance is NOT excused. Just kidding.

Actually never apologize for asking a question. What do you have to feel sorry for?

    Anyhoo,

I'm not sure if you asking what it means for Mars to be in detriment or my statement about the degrees, so I'll answer both.

All signs have a detrimental planet. Usually this means a planet that shows it's bad side when in that sign. In classical astrology, Mars was called the lesser malific. When Mars is happy (or exalted) his good sides came out. So, this would be action, male energy, or if it was for a military or athletic person would be very beneficial. If Mars is NOT happy he is rash and violent. So if you are asking a question that somehow involves Mars, and Mars is in Taurus, you would consider Mars pretty unhappy.

Mars being in Taurus is not good, but if he is in the 27th - 30th degrees, then that's the peak of unhappiness. That is his term in Taurus, so there is a little extra attention there. I actually misprinted above and said 26th degree. That's the last degree of Saturn's term.

Classical astrology will have things where you would look what dignities the planet is in whether good or bad. So when there is a question, and the planet is in any dignity at all, it means something. If it has NO dignity, then it is peregrine, so it's uncomfortable.

There are different categories for the dignities. You have triplicity which is quite strong, then you have term which is also strong, and then face which is a very weak dignity. If a planet is dignified by face, that represents a fear or worry.

    Enlil6,

I don't understand why certain degrees are good or bad for a planet. Can you explain this a little better? I have heard of Sabian Symbols which act on each degree.

That's one of the big differences between classical and modern astrology.

There is a table Ptolemy created that shows these. It's the essential dignities. This is what shows if a planet is strong, weak, effective, or ineffective. The degrees show where the effects are most pronounced. I'll use Taurus as an example since that is what we are talking about:

First the ruler is Venus and it is listed as a nocturnal planet.
The Moon is in exaltation from 0 degrees to 3 degrees. Exaltation is lke being an honored guest.
    Venus is day triplicity ruler
The Moon is night triplicity ruler

Ok here are the terms. These are of a lower leven than ruler and exaltation, but still up there. Numbers represent degrees:

    Venus 0 - 8
    Mercury 9 - 15
    Jupiter 16 - 22
    Saturn 23 - 26
    Mars 27 - 30

Here are the faces. These are very weak dignities. They are also called decans. They are actually used quite a bit in traditional magic. This is sort of like giving a homeless man 20 bucks. It helps, but not much:

    Mercury 0 - 10
    Moon 11 - 20
    Saturn 21 - 30

Mars is in detriment, so it doesn't so well here.

There is another dignity called "fall" which is like a detriment but less so. Taurus doesn't have a fall.

There is another set called accidental dignities which act similarly to the above:

If a planet is in an angular house it is a dignity and if its in a cadent house it is a detriment
If Mars, Saturn, & Jupiter are oriental it is a dignity otherwise it's a debility
If Venus and Mercury are occidental it is a dignity otherwise it's a debility
If a planet is within a degree if the Sun it's a dignity
If a planet is within degrees 1 and 8 of the Sun it's a debility
A direct planet is a dignity
A retrograde planet is a debility

There are a few others, but that's what I remember off the top of my head.
