Consider the mentality of the crowd that voted her IN. Out in the sticks, the loudest mouth saying the most outrageous things can garner a lot of votes. Desperate people grasp for the lowest-hanging straws.

The "White Base" you're referring to is that segment of the white population that didn't pay attention in school. I went to school with numerous young people who thought school was "stupid", didn't see why they needed to learn about U.S. history, "because it's over with - it's history ......... who cares?" Math was also "stupid" because "I'm never gonna use this stuff", and science was "B-O-R-I-N-G."

Now those folks save up for months to get a new tattoo ............ while their house is falling apart, their kids have holes in their shoes & clothes, go without health insurance, and sometimes - food. They work / toil at go-nowhere jobs that pay wages that could sustain a family decently - not richly - back in 1980.

Yep .............. school surely was stupid.

The best line I ever heard on health care was from Bill Mahrer. He was doing a parody of Jesus (as a REPUBLICAN) and His disciples when they encountered a sick person. The sick person begs Jesus to heal him, to which Jesus replies ....

    "What ......... for FREE??"

People often talk about a permanent black underclass (which does exist) and often brings unneeded attention to itself by way of violent street gangs and blue collar crime.

But hidden within the fabric of America are uneducated rural whites who form the largest group of working poor.

Many of these people make up the 50%

There are MANY, MANY white Republicans who ARE NOT wealthy. And thanks to the ANTI-worker policies of THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ............ they won't even become financially "comfortable" ................ no matter how many years they work or how much overtime they work.

Remember this ............... A REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN from California wrote a bill that would eliminate ALL - - - - ALL - - - - employer-paid benefits to workers nationwide in the U.S. No healthcare money, no retirement 401-k match or "kick-in", no vacation pay, no overtime pay, no paid sick days or family leave. THIS IS TYPICAL ANTI-WORKER REPUBLICAN POLICY THAT FAVORS CORPORATIONS AND BUSINESSES - - - - and NOT the workers of America that they "claim" to be on the side of. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY will continue to side with businesses against workers and their RIGHTS to organize and stand together in a UNION to negotiate for better pay & benefits. They want every worker to be alone against the corporate machine - with no legal standing or rights.

DO NOT listen to what the REPUBLICAN PARTY says ............... watch their actions - what they do - and who it favors ................ or opposes.

See my post #824 above. These are some of the reasons that SOME white people in "the base" are working poor. It's not just rural people either - plenty of city & town folks hated school and paid no attention while there.

^^^^^^^^^ I have friends and FAMILY members who fit the "school is stupid" category. I've seen the results of "school is stupid" behavior first-hand. They're really nice people ........... but couldn't pass a 5th grade civics or history exam if their life depended on it. I've heard them grumble about how "they're getting screwed-over" by everyone in life. - - - - - - Who screwed whom????

Twitter suspends Marjorie Taylor Greene for spreading covid-19 misinformation

Twitter temporarily suspended Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) for violating its covid-19 misinformation policy after she falsely claimed that the coronavirus was “not dangerous” for some people.

A Twitter spokesperson confirmed Monday evening that the company had taken “enforcement action” on Greene’s personal account for violations of its policies.

The account was put on “read-only” mode for 12 hours, which according to Twitter’s rules happens “if it seems like an otherwise healthy account is in the middle of an abusive episode.” The 12-hour suspension is the shortest of Twitter’s read-only penalties, which its website says can range from 12 hours to seven days, “depending on the nature of the violation.

Half of all misinformation spread in Turkey is believed to be spread by Twitter. If they didn't point fingers at their own customers, they'd loose all their free advertising. Suspending her account temporarily is a sure money maker.

She probably still doesn't understand what happened. But lucky for us, she's out there saving America. From what, who knows. Maybe there's Muslim Space Lasers too.

The mass media is nothing but a second rate carnival road show, and the more stupid you make republicans look, the more everyone assumes politics are merely a joke in bad taste, and the mass media is what matters. Democracy by the lowest common denominator, sold down river to the lowest bidder.

3 GOP House members lose appeals over $500 mask fines

On Tuesday, the U.S. House Ethics Committee released statements noting that U.S. Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Ralph Norman of South Carolina had failed in their appeals of $500 fines issued in May.

The Republicans challenged the fines in June, arguing that the mandate was out of sync with recent federal guidance on face coverings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

$500 in fines produced a million in donations. These guys are lunatics, but they're not stupid. That's the scary part.
