I don't understand why it's illegal when alcohol is legal. alcohol is way worse for you it's ridiculous.

Not to mention the that alcohol has made me a very big idiot at times and pretty much non functional. It is a very dumb system for weed to be illegal, but it's much harder to tax... blah blah.

Some funny shit in this thread....

The liberals have NOT promised to legalize weed if they get elected.

They held a general membership vote about it in which the majority voted to support the legalization of it. The party has NOT changed their stance on it and will not be until after they choose a new leader. It will be up to the new leader as to wether or not they do.

Besides that issue... the other funny part is that there are people in this thread who have already stated their opposition to weed and its legalization talking as if they actually think in the first place.

Hypocracy is not the sole trick of politicians....

as someone who has never smoked marijuana I still think it should be legal. if it's legal to get drunk it should be legal to smoke. alcohol is man made, marijuana is naturally grown. plus alcohol is way worse for you

Woah. This is pure retardation. Smoke more weed and cut back on crack.

You just said that because you are afraid of having a new dealer, innocent people should have their lives wasted, go to jail, be killed, etc.

Oh, okay. Makes sense, what with you being too cracked out to grow your own legal plant.

    No.

That would be like testing for nicotine. Only stupider.

They will because MJ is considered a mind-altering substance; just as they test for alcohol. I promise you they will. Private business will always have the right to test for substances.

@the new dealer comment; small growers will be bullied out quickly. Users shouldn't be caught anyways unless for some reason they give the pigs a reason to come looking. I am all for decriminalization anyways.

Pot testing for impairment is by blood concentration of THC, not metabolite urine tests. And even now there's a strong awareness that the impairment level depends on lots of factors, and may not be harmful to performance.

You, again, can grow your own, there is no reason that it should be worth that much, I'm unconcerned with that side of things. Right now there's small growers, and large syndicates with MORE power than many goobernments with a monopoly on the shit anyways. Thousands of people die because of the war on drugs, and civil liberties and rights are flushed down the shitter, one bit at a time..... the war on drugs was a big part of the beginning of the end. And you have the audacity to act as though that's just okay, because you support "decriminalization"? Don't make me laugh. Until there is full legalization, there will be continued attacks and shit, and the "you deserve it because you slipped up and got caught doing something you should be allowed to do, and I don't want government regulating drugs, instead of regulating their users to jail" argument holds less water than a cup made out of fresh turd.

Actually, they do not have that right, and they never will...

There are places where they have that power... but that is a seperate issue.

The problem with 'drug testing' is that it makes the assumption that by taking a job, you become the property of the company who hires you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The fact that so many people have accepted this as a necessary part of getting jobs, is just a demonstration of how people are willing to roll over and accept whatever the government wants to shove up their ass... usually without even bleating about it.

Just as they will about being tested for pot if it is decriminalized.
