MSN This is the first clear evidence that they now have all the math required to reduce AI computational demands to nothing. You can bet your sweet ass this work is classified, and is only now starting to come out of the closet. Nvidia has likely had access to this math for a few years. They're the resident world experts with tensors, and being able to combine them with manifolds would require perhaps 1/3 of the space on chip, and be 100,000x more efficient, no matter what hardware you use. They are pushing the boundary between classical and modern physics, steadily finding new ways to avoid having to use classic logic, for greater efficiency and accuracy, but there's no way they can ever become more efficient, accurate, and precise then a self-organizing system. Note, this is the opposite approach of String Theory, but should prove to be every bit as tautological.
And here I thought this was going to be about getting better performance from a VW Bus. But will it give me better gas mileage?
Using the word tautological is confusing... the meaning of the word is: Using two words or phrases that express the same meaning, in a way that is unnecessary and usually unintentional. -Cambridge English Language Dictionary
Dictionaries merely contain the most popular definitions, so you can pick whichever one you like however, String theorists, for example, don't intend to write tautological theories, and one has thrown his arms up in the air in symbolic surrender, and switched to an entirely different branch of physics.
