That's awful. I wonder what could have motivated him. On Halloween? That's unusual.

Yes. It still is unusual. Unless you also count being subjected to all the commercialism

Sounds like he had been in the US for quite a while, and there is speculation that he was radicalized after arriving in the United States. There was a note in the truck in which he claimed that he was acting on behalf of the so-called Islamic State.

So what is your point that he had been radicalized in the USA? 6 years is not quite a while, how much time did he actually spend in the USA or was he leaving and returning a lot? And acted on behalf the so called.IS... you think he acted on behalf of someone else or he is lying?

Don't think he was trying to make any point or expressing personal opinion, just relaying information that has been reported.
    Get over yourself already...

How the fuck should I know? I'm not US law enforcement. I'm just sharing what I heard on the radio this morning, not looking to argue about something that neither of us really know anything about. Relax.

I am not looking for a fight either, was just asking.

What does it mean if he was radicalized in the USA?

    I see this a lot!

Does it mean that the USA has not properly screened those coming in?

I remember living in a world where this kind of news was actually shocking.

Now it's like, "Again? Where did it happen this time? Okay." Back to regular life.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not being callous toward those who have died in these attacks--loss of life is horrible--it's just that the attacks themselves have become such a part of our social landscape, that this type of news just doesn't faze me anymore.

My thoughts are with the families and friends of those killed and injured, Everyone should be vigilant and look out for their self and others

    The names and stuff:

Anne Laure Decadt, 31, of Belgium
Darren Drake, 32, of New Milford, New Jersey
Nicolas Cleves, 23, of New York
    Hernán Diego Mendoza
    Diego Enrique Angelini
    Alejandro Damián Pagnucco
    Ariel Erlij
    Hernán Ferruchi

The last five were Argentine. They graduated high school in 1987 so figure about 50 years old. Very sad.

It could mean he (or anyone who attacks) was born here in the first place. It could mean that in a land of free speech, internet, and religion he found out about the extreme side of Islam without being in the Middle East. Or perhaps that Islam has nothing to do with this. Honestly the extreme religious freedom and tolerance Christians expect can be used many ways. I suspect you do not want to admit he's not a fresh off the boat ISIS immigrant because then the Trump plan does not work. A philosophy that is so simple it just does not work. So you blow up at the idea that he is not.

Er, what's that got to do with the price of fish?

I agree with neoprene queen that these attacks are now commonplace in the West, though much less so than in Iraq and Afghanistan for example.

I would assume the price of fish goes up in Ethiopia before and on their new years day, along with all seafood

But seriously, he asked if terrorist attacks on holidays was a thing. Doesnt matter what day of the year its probably going to be some holiday somewhere in the world
