Church bells to toll to mark Manchester Arena bombing anniversary:
Church bells will toll on Saturday night to remember those murdered in the Manchester Arena terror attack on the fourth anniversary of the bombing.
    - Prayer services will be held at 9am and 4.30pm at Manchester Cathedral during which the names will be read out of the 22 people who died in the suicide attack on May 22 2017.
    - The cathedral will be open from 9.30am to 4.30pm for private prayer and the lighting of candles, and the prayer services will be livestreamed on the cathedral’s Facebook page.
    - Four years ago thousands of children and parents had enjoyed an Ariana Grande concert at the arena.

we were in england then, in London. They stepped up security something fierce. there were heavily armed police everywhere. you couldn't use the train or buses without seeing a massive response. it was horrific to be sure. just the shockwave was unbearable. It's really unimaginable. I can't fathom what the families, let alone the victims have suffered through. the poor victims...

I remember the machine guns more than anything... The news was only on the internet - tele was out 'cause hotel room television was very limited and difficult for me to use (I don't know what my problem is!:tearsofjoy:). Anyway, it was tiny compared to what must have been on the news networks - I only got the webpage version.

But it was hard not to notice the machine guns. :disappointed:

Although I was on rest day when it ocurred, the aftermath was all hands on
What people don't realise was; (similar to '96) that there was a potential of further device,
There is rarely; if ever a 'lone' gunman/terrorist.
A number of those staff, be it BTP, Arena Security, Police/Emergency/first on-scene personel had to deal with the reality of immediate and PTSD - However Manchester is both Resolute and Diversely acceptant
We Stand together and Remember ...
