Well, keep it trimmed. Hair in your mouth is a mood killer. Keep it clean, ball funk isn't attractive. And from what I've heard, it's how you use it. A friend of mine had my dick as her screen saver, so she did like how it looks.

I am not aware of anything that would help improve the appearance especially given that one person's 'Yum' is another person's 'Yeuch'. Just ensure it and your underwear are clean. (As I was told as a child; always have clean underwear on "just in case there's an accident" and a doctor needs to examine me. By robust - if you mean hard; there are pills for that.
