Revolution begins with each of us. Share your knowledge and love everyone. Violence does not work. Work on yourself and let your example change the people around you.

    Peace and love

How do you know the reality of the situation? How do any of us know? Until it has been tested, none of us will ever know the reality of the situation. Maybe if we educate people enough and really work on the changing thw world, the people agaisnt us will realize that what we are doing is good and will follow us. Or maybe they wont, but does that mean that we shouldnt even try?

The attitude of people towards the world. People must learn to think for themselves, be creative, and also more peaceful and respectul of nature. That is what is to change. How? With a better education.

Nothing can be done to change anyone's mind until they are ready to open up- then they'll come around regardless of what anyone else does or says. I think much of what's being posted here including, but not limited to the bashing, is posturing intended to "prove" how much more peaceful and loving (or informed) one individual is than everyone else. It's not good enough to have people thinking in line with a particular ideology-- it has to be at "MY" behest.

We've truly recreated the sixties from what little I can remember... where most people were in it for the fad and fashion and little in real substance. We drape ourselves in tie dye and play the soundtrack that used to spin on vinyl but there's little substance to back any of it up. The main difference now is there's no draft to compel regular folks to become politically involved- so a vast majority of people have the luxury of listening to old music and wax nostalgic at the summer of love but have little cause to gather facts about the global crimes their elected officials are committing except to impress a bunch of faceless posters on a web board. The rage that fueled draft card and bra burnings decades ago is absent. Most people today are too damned comfortable to feel any real passion for any cause.

to citrus seas, alot of maturing happens in 4 years. 4 years ago, i was a 12 year old in elementary school, about to go into middle. i diddnt know anyth9ing for myself and just believed anything mom and dad told me. i would kick and scream when something diddnt go my way like most little 12 year old brats do. BUT at the time, i thought i knew everything, i thought i was mature as shit. i thought i could pretty much move out of the house and start a real life.

now, 4 years later, im 16. not much older. but alot has happened. i started thinking and asking questions and not accepting answers like "ask god when you get to heavon." i learned about govt and laws and history. i learned about the mistakes people make. ive had 2 friends my own age die and learned the reality that we arent immortal and not invincible.

i started smoking weed, popping pills and drinking. i thought it would be "cool" to be a hippy and not go to college, be a bum in a van and never have a job. thats why i joined hipforums cause i thought it would be "cool hippy people" i got expelled, sent away from my house to live with my dad. was the same spoiled brat i was at 12. kicking and screaming all damn summer. kept up with the pills and got myself arrested and put into drug treatment. started to realize how much of a prick i was and changed that. got out of drug treatment, got a job, and got onto the honor roll.

all that is alot of maturing. all in only 4 short years. id say thats quite a bit. and by the time im 20, ill be a hell of a lot more mature. now i plan on going to college and going to study overseas in my junior year. i still think the govt is full of shit but i know you cant do shit about it living in a van. i still smoke weed, and do other drugs of all kinds, but i dont live my life by them

john lennon peace is gonna be a hell of a lot more mature when he is 17(hopefully). chances are, he will probbaly look back here and cringe in embaressment.....i know if you look hard enough you might be able to find some of my posts from when i was 14 and see how different they are

and to everyone saying "violence isnt the answer, we need a peaceful revolution"......why dont you give us a fucking example of how to have a peaceful revolution. how are we gonna get it started, how do we keep it from collapsing. how do we keep dumb fucks like Leary and Morrison from being the spokespersons for it. how do we convince the politicians that they need to start representing EVERYBODY. not just the religious right........someone give me some legitiment, and realistic examples to these questions.....when you see no one can, youll see why revolutions are always written in blood

Well for a start, people like you can change your attitude. Your anger and destructive fixations are the reason we fight each other. Learn to appreciate the beauty of this world, and the ugly will vanish. You wanna do your part? Stop talking about war and bloodshed like it's a necessity because you are making it a necessity.

Existentialism has shown us that we create our own universe and it's this archaic, brainwashed thought pattern of "war is inevitable" that keeps war inevitable. Do you see? The root of war lies even in your soul. Cleanse yourself of this negativity, my friend, and we're a step closer to peace.

Reality is subjective and no one can see the whole picture unless they are enlightened. Love is the antidote to hate and there is no other way to defeat hatred. Why do the middle eastern countries hate us? Because we as a country have fucked them in the ass. There are so many other possibilities to violence. Ghandi is my hero because he changed the world with his non-violent protest. Civil disobedience has made such a big difference but it seems like no one ever considers it as an option. Change is made with one heart and one mind at a time.

Like I've said in another post, being a black person, I see a lot of my family members or other peers who are also black say that if they knew of anyone who owned a slave or who was a Nazi, they would beat them or even kill them. To me this is stupid. Acting out in violence shows people how stupid you are, and how low in society you are, so me beating a Nazi or a KKK member to near death makes me as bad as they are. Of course I'm not going to be friendly to them and ask them into my house for some tea or something, but I'm going to understand why they have so much hate and just hope that they'll turn around in some point in their life, because as hippiechick666 stated, love is the antidote to hate and there is no other way to defeat hatred.

In a utopia, love is the ultimate antidote, and I agree that violence is a terrible affliction upon this planet. However, you have to take human nature and cultural attributes into account........the cold hard truth is that we live in a very violent time in human history, and with the apathy of the sheep and constant increase of the oppressors power, the hippie ideologue is left as a quaint utopian philosophy that has no real viable chance of success within the confines of the hell on earth we are letting be created. Unfortunately in this age of Pisces revolutions can only be born through blood.........I don't like it, I detest war with every fiber of my being, but that is reality and I cannot hide from it, I must accept the truth as it is.........lying to myself would only perpetuate the myths and manipulations disseminated to the sheep for the purpose of more control, more oppression..........only when people realize the full extent of what we are facing, when they realize that their entire conception of what is real and what is not, is a contrived fairy tale put forth by those who wish to enslave you.........only then will we as a population truly be staring down the path to enlightenment.......with the internet and vastly improved communications technologies that are currently available, we have a real shot at waking people up, helping people to understand, and i'm hoping more people will begin utilizing the tools available to them, not simply seeking another outlet for mindless self indulgence (entertainment), we have a real shot at revolution, and very hard times are coming, your about to live through what could possibly be the most turbulent period in human history, the spark is quickly getting closer to the fuse..........indulging in adolescent fantasies of non-violent revolution are fantastical and naieve, the sooner that you accept that the new expanded empire will not vanish without a drop of blood, the sooner you will be prepared to actually implement positive change, not just mentally masturbate to an unattainable ideologue.
