sorry if it sounded like I was telling you to leave this site, I wasn't- I'm just saying..please don't shoot us down. Give it a shot. Voice your opinions like everyone else, but please don't seem so close-minded to our beliefs.
read my response. i LIKE posting here. just because i disagree, doesnt mean im gonna storm out of the room like a toddler. this is a debate....somewhat
im not doing this because someone else told me to, im doing it because someone elese opened me eyes, because some one else get me pumped up enough to want to speak out... im doing this because I believe that eventally people will listen
im not close minded to them. if you wanted to waste time and read the entire thread, at the beginning i was completely supportive of it. just over the last year, i started realizing how hte world works more so than i did before. and my opinions changed. believe me, if you guys had a good, creative, new option for massive change in the world, im 100% up for it. but playing folk music just isnt gonna cut it
well- I think that you know what you're talkin about in some points. You're just a lot more blunt than we'd like to hear it. but music is a part of all of us, I guess that's why we want to believe it can change people. Plus what can entertainment hurt when you're trying to change the world. Surely we can all agree that music definately isn't gonna work against us. Anyways, what do you s'pose we do?
blunt is the way i like it and definatly, music is a great thing. music is a huge influence in my life and and i find it to be one of the greatest inventions man ever created. my solution to help the world? get yourself educated. finish high school. if you feel the need to, go to college. but if you do, dont go to get a high paying job. do it for the real reason universities where made, to learn. learn philosophy, learn politics, learn theology, learn history, antropology. expand your mind. dont drop out so you can smoke weed and play music. as much fun as it is, you wont do much good to humanity. and if your not going to college, continue your education through your own means. travel the world. read. i think the best revolution we need right now, is a revolution of knowlege.
THEY WERE 500,000 PEOPLE WHO GOT ALONG FOR 3 DAYS IS THAT NOT AMAZING, TODAY YOU CANT GET 500,000 PEOPLE IN 1 AREA WITHOUT ONE DEATH , I AM SICK AND TRIED OF YOU POSTS , WHY ARE YOU ON THIS SITE!!!!!
chill, if your sick and tired of his posts because his opinions differ from yours, why dont you leave? this is free speach he can say what he wants.
because he wants to be. having a hippy mentality doesnt mean you have to worship hendrix and lennon and always be trying to have a revolution and think woodstock is equivalent to the day the americas were discovered
what do you mean? are you saying that if you dont worship lennon and woodstock that your not a hippy? try telling that to some of the older hipforums members. ones who actually saw them
sorry for thedouble post... but anyway... playing folk music is not the only part of this revolution, it is a small part that will help the revolution along. You cannot say that music did not help the origanlly hippy revelution along. Music is not the only part of the revulution, it just helps people to relize that there is a revolution goning on, and they can be part of it.
i understand what your saying, your beinmg a little more sensible. but john lennon peace and woodstockchild seem to think that the music will CAUSE the revolution, not be a byproduct of it. the hippies in the 60s diddnt say "hey man, lets start making lots of bands and itll cause a revolution!" they diddnt plan it. it just happened. the reasons for a revolution are alot more important than the music.
yes, well i hope we can all come out of this thread convo a little more educated and more sensible, while keeping the convo civilized
It is funny how you and the other high-school hippies are preaching your open-mindedness and tolerance then when someone like amusisofgod (sp?) comes along to counter you, you piss and shit all over him. He prolly nows typing in BOLD will piss you off. This is a free-speech forum and he is exercising his right to do so and so there has only been a few posts that actually adress his position, instead we are seeing "Dont ever tell me woodstock wasnt supercoool happy fun time drugs n rock n roll primetime hour!!!" or something of the /sort/ As for woodstock being a revoltion in itself, it was a massive concert no more no less. Now kids, try to stay with me here. The reason you will not bring peace and understanding to this world is that there cannot be peace and understanding in a revolution if there was it would letting your enemies be who they are and be at peace with them and understand there way of life(while they shit on you), this is why the hippie movements of the 60's failed ultimately and why nothing like this has ever changed people on a global scale. Its not to say I dont like hippies, I know hippies I talk to hippies where I work when im out and I love the older hippies stories about 60's. Why was there a revolution in the 60's? If you ask me it had something to do with THE DRAFT and VIETNAM CONFLICT, before you pull out Iraq conflict let me say this, during Vietnam death tolls were recorded on public news and dead bodies were shown being taken off the planes on the news. ps- Woodstock, stop living in your puppydog fairy dreamworld, wake up and smell the shit.
