So, you are saying to youth:

"Look at what we did and where we failed. Use your natural tendancy to "know-it-all-at-age-18" to try different approaches."

That's a good idea, but I think that the "natural tendancy to "know-it-all-at-age-18"" will result in them ignoring your good advice.

The name of the game is PROTEST! No one will listen or see you without it ! Young, old, hippie, conformist, non-conformist, everyone. Protest what is wrong....fuel dependency, war, violence in our schools and cities, the economy, the damage to our ecology...and on and on ! If you are not part of the solution; you are part of the problem ! Peace and Love !

    Another game is DROP OUT!

Don't care that you don't have the new X-Box. Don't worry if people think you weird for not knowing that there is a new one out.

It doesn't work for all things. (Not caring about pollution doesn't make you breath easier.) But caring about what YOU care about and not caring about what you don't, rather than caring about what you are supposed to is a good way to ease your soul.
On the other hand, if you like to make people do what you want, not caring is a sucky technique.

If weed stunts penis growth then I am a fucking anomaly. I've smoked since I was 14 and ummm well....yeah no problems in that department. People have almost no logical or critical thinking skills anymore....I look at my generation (Gen Y) and just hate to think how much worse it has gotten in the newer generations.

On revolution: power to the peaceful....but...dont forget about the 2nd Amendment!

I am a part of the original Woodstock Generation. And we did listen to and enlist our elders, without them we would never have had any credibility. It was people like Ginsburg, Mailer and others that guided us and let us become what we were to become that made the movement what it was.

Sure at one point there was a segment that wanted to lock up anyone over 35 years old...but now we are there and would hardly promote that idea. I saw a post here on Hipformums about how annoying the elderly are, perhaps you guys are already going down that road.

I once thought it would be great to open a string of rest homes for old hippies. Lot's of big floor pillows and rock music piped in...maybe if you lock us all up you can give us that kind of environment.

As part of the original Woodstock generation; I agree ! I also like your idea for the "hippy resthomes" The floor pillows would be great as long as we can all still get down to them ! lol. I don't consider myself or you as elderly, but that time is closer everyday. I think we "elderly hippies" have alot to offer the new generation. I listened to what my parents were laying down and used that info in my life. What they had to say was worht listening to. They were pretty enlightened which made listening to them a whole lot easier. But their values were ones that I still live by today and they are perfectly suited to the hippy movement of the 60's as well as now. So all of you "young uns", listen to what we old hippies have to say. As my Grandmother used to tell me "You might learn a thing or two" Peace and Love !

does it matter who he's posting the comment to? He's obviously ignorant and shouldn't be taken seriously. I love every single person on this planet, but this person is just a waste of fucking space, man. Don't even get hung up on it.

Do you love Mugabi, or George Bush? I hope you do, otherwise you'd be a hypocrite. Hypocrites opinions matter just as much as ignorant peoples opinions.

Hey. I don't always agree with what you have to say man, but I respect your right to say it ! I agree with what you said above. It doesn't matter who says what. We all have that right. If we start to impose sanctions on speech and only let people talk who have something we want to hear; then we are no better than those we despise for silencing others. It cannot be a double edged sword. Peace and Love !

Regarding the pic you posted....Yes, I can see a difference. I am in no way supporting a political party or view here, but it must be stated that unlike hitler, George W. isn't single handedly trying to eliminate an entire race of people.....and he isn't an insane heroin addict either ! Peace and Love !

Ok, I see what you're doing! You're trying to get me to say that I love these people and then when I do, you call me a hypocrite because they're the anthesis of this cause, but if I say I don't love them, i'm a hypocrite anyways because hippies are supposed to love everyone, right? Well, I don't hate Mugabi or George Bush, I just hate what they stand for. George Bush was never the insane dictator he is now when he was a child, I don't even think Hitler was. So if they just made different choices in their earlier life, they'd probably be good people. I respect you for your opinion, and apologize for anything I said that seemed to make contradictions to anything else I may have said, but I just don't see the point in bashing this cause or any other utopian movement that people want to have. You can't say that it'll never happen, because it is happening, just not on a grand scale. I may be young and only 16, (why that seems to make me naive and unintelligent I don't get) but I know that the peace and love generation is still strong and i'm a part of it. There is a movement happening, because you could have 500, 000 people spreading the word of peace and love, or just 3 and that's still a movement. So, really anyone who says there never will be one, is wrong. There's been one happening and going strong for thousands of years now. Peace and Love to you, man.

So you would welcome Mugabi or George Bush into your house if need be? I highly doubt it. You obviously don't love them that much.

Yet, you don't love this one person (HelterSkelter) because he has different opinions to you, and is cynical? That's quite hypocritical, don't you think?
