im really pale, ive been blonde and brown, and i have green eyes. I use a really light pink blush. I usually just like to give my a slight "just got outta the cold" pink. Nothing too red, BLEH...and nothing bronzy or brown, cuz that will just make it look cakey and fake. As for eye make up, it really depends on the whole shape of your face and eye. I can get away with wearing heavy dark eye make up, cuz i have wide, almond shaped eyes. If you have narrow, small eyes, you most likely wont ever be able to pull it off because it would just drown out your eyes. As for the suggestion above, about red eye shadow, that's another iffy. Red is a really hard colour to pull of, for everything from clothes to make up. I'm jealous that artistofpeace can pull it off lol...i've tried it, and it just looks dead awful, and ive seen a lot of people look dead awful in it. It's all about practice practice practice. Find one of those huge kits ON SALE (they're painfully expensive if they're not...especially if you're going to use it for a lot of experimenting) Everytime i put on make up, i try to do something different...a lot of times it's barely even noticeable, but it's all about how you feel in it, and how you feel doing it. Good luck.
For green eyes, try purple, bronze, gold or peach colored eyeshadows. Those colors really make green eyes "pop". Brown/taupe eyeshadow is a good all purpose neutral look. Pick a light color...off white (like MAC Mylar) or pale, pale pink or peach and put that from just under your eyebrow all the way down to your lashes. Then take a darker color and go from your lashes to the crease of your eyelid. Blend that up on the outer corner of your lid (toward your eyebrow). Then if you want, put a darker color in the same color family as what is on your lid in your crease and blend that up and out on the outer corner of your eyelid (toward your eyebrow). The key here is blend, blend, blend! You do not want any obvious lines. Next is the eyeliner. You can use eyeshadow and apply it with a wet brush, or use a pencil liner, etc. I agree, try one of those kits with many colors if you are just starting out. There will be colors in there though that will just not work on you, but at least you can practice for cheap and figure out what color families you like best on you. I would stay away from red eyeshadow. Very, very few people can pull it off. For blush.....do you look best in pink/red toned clothes, or yellow/brown toned clothes? Are you very fair skinned? When you are starting out, don't pick a very intense color like red, fusha, or mahogany/brown. Try rose, soft pink, or a peachy/pink. Smile and apply the blush to the "Apple" of your cheek, then blend up and out. Creams and gels look the most natural but are harder to apply. Powders are easier. Lipgloss instead of lipstick. Cover Girl and Wet and Wild make some nice ones that are not too expensive. MAC lipglosses are awesome if you want to splurge. HTH!
I love make-up, and I've been interested in techniques etc since i was born. If anyone has any questions, ask me, and I'll do the best I can to help..lol
Ok hey thanks it helped me alot with your tips Ceres. But now I need some serious help with how to dress to appeal guys, amd what to do with my hair cuz i got natrually curly hair.Plzzzz help me out.An i look better in pinks, blacks.
Do you have a picture I could see? How to dress to appeal guys all depends on your body type. Is your hair frizzy and hard to get control of, or do you want straight hair? Is your hair dry etc?
you sound so pretty sweet_n_InocentHippi,and you have such long hair, gee, past your botty!!lol........i dont think you should wear alot of make-up as you sound lovely without any with your good skin, maybe just a little lipgloss for that sexy sheen men love and a touch of natural blusher for that rosy look..dress wise, well, depending on your figure, pretty femminne clothes never go wrong to catch a man's attention, dont over do it though, just simple clothes,i love Gypsy tops,so you can show a little shoulder if you want to get a guys attention, not too much.........flared jeans are cute too, pretty simple dresse's....,your only young!..........why dont you post a piccie of you so we can see, that helps a little Just experiment and have fun, thats what its all about, create your own style, never copy,be yourself..........
For naturally curly hair there is a website: www.naturallycurly.com that has a TON of good info for those of us with naturally curly hair. I have curls too, and straight haired chicks have NO IDEA what it is like to have to deal every day with curly hair so this site is populated by nothing but curlies. I learned so much there and I love my hair now that I know how to properly handle it. You really have to experiment with products to find out what works for you. You know, how to get no frizz but avoid "the crunch". Really, go check out this site I think you will love it! Since you look best in pinks then I would look for a soft pink/rose colored blush. L'Oreal and Almay make some good ones. If you want to splurge sometime on eyeshadow check out Stila and Urban Decay. I would say if you are going to wear makeup on a regular basis, then it is very important to invest in some quality brushes. MAC makes great brushes and they are worth every penny. I have had mine for years. I would go sometime for a makeover at a MAC counter, you don't have to buy everything...but do ask about the brushes and buy what makeup & brushes you can afford. And don't feel guilty because you don't buy everything. No, I don't work for MAC but I do think their line is great. As for dressing for guys...forget it. Dress to please yourself!
Thank you so much you have helped me so so so so much on everything.Yeah I have never cut my hair in my life.I am debating on weather I should cut it now or wait a lil longer to cut it what do you guys think.OMG with your guys help I have had a few guys from school ask me out.Even some preppy's have asked me out,and telling me I should have done this years ago.An now they are all asking me to prom.I feel blessed to have such nice people to help me out.Thank you all so very much.I don't know what else I would of done if I didn't have such sweet people to help me.As for a pic I don't have a cam yet but when I get one I'll show you a before pic,and after pic.Thank you how may i ever repay you lovely people.
You're welcome! If you do ever decide to cut your hair, check out "locks of love". It is an organization that uses donated human hair to make wigs for children who lost their hair to chemotherapy. I think you have to donate at least 12" and I think that they want "virgin" hair or hair that has been dye free for some time. I am sure if you google locks of love you can find their website. Kevyn Aucoin and Bobbi Brown have both written great how-to books for makeup. Maybe your library can get them for you. Kevyn's book is called Making Faces, I think.
I have decided that I am going to go cut my hair to at least the middle of my back. After all my hair when I sit down goes to my knees, and I also have never dyed my hair.I am going to give it to the children that need hair.Plus they need it more then I do if you ask me.The only thing I do with my hair is wash it, and put some protien in it,and put some bed head thing to keep it from frizzing on me.But I have to buy that stuff everyday cause my hair is so long that I use one whole bottle in my hair in one wash.So I am going to give the kids what they always have wanted hair cause I sure have had my fair share of hair so why not help another to make some lil kids dream come true.
Good decition! You might also find it easier to style etc when it's shorter. And when you walk out of the hair salon, you'll probably feel 10 pounds lighter, i know i do when I cut my hair, and I usually only cut it max. 5 cm everytime.
Yeah I just got back from the hair salon and I got my hair cut and omg it feels as if i got weight tooken off like no other. It feels like you said 10lbs lighter. But it feels so cold without it lol.Oh well i am just going to have to get use to it.The lady was giving me a hard time she was all like are you sure that you want to cut all that beautiful hair and I said yes cause there is more importent people in this world that need it then i and she was like as long as you are sure you want to do this.An i said yes. Then now I have to wash my hair cause I don't like the shampoo they used in my hair.It smells kinda funny.lol.I am so picky when it comes to my hair lol. Thanks for all the good advice to you guys.An if i can help you with anything just ask me k. Love Always Your Girl~ Janessa
janessa thats really awesome of you to donate your hair.. i had hair like yours, and then i cut it to just below my shoulders, and i donated it! it just makes you feel good that you are helping someone!
try using a fat eyeliner. when they are bigger around, they are easier to apply. try turquoise! it's the new 'smoky eye.' i dust turquoise shadow on my lids, then line the top lid with a fat turquoise eyeliner, like covergirl eyeslicks. then i put on a little mascara. the result? eyes that really pop out and draw others in.
Who wears make up these days? Pfft However if you feel like you need to wear the junk go as little as possible, always neutral. Natural beauty beats the shadow any day.
