spooner, it cannot be an "abortion" until it is a "PREGNANCY." The medical definition of PREGNANCY is IMPLANTATION of a fertilized egg. A zygote which has not yet implanted is NOT a pregnancy.

Plan B usually prevents ovulation, but if there were early ovulation it prevents implantation, however this is NOT an abortion. Nor can Plan B or the BC pill do anything to an already implanted fertilized egg.

This is just common, well known biology.

As a doctor, you should know better.

From the Annals of Pharmacotherapy document that I cited in my last post:

"Hormonal emergency contraception sometimes takes place after fertilization by preventing
implantation of the embryo in the lining of the uterus. In this case, it
becomes an early abortion, if one recognizes the traditional definition of pregnancy
to be the gestational process from conception to birth. In this definition, conception
is understood as the instant that a sperm and an ovum unite to form an embryo.
Several studies have shown that use of the Yuzpe regimen and Plan B alter the lining
of the uterus, making it difficult for an embryo to implant there."

Furthermore, "zygote" (or "fertilized egg") refers only to the single-cell stage immediately following conception. Implantation occurs 1 week later, at which point you have a several-hundred-cell embryo.
