i don't like them..and i'm pissed that whoever the hell the lead singer is, is now the lead singer of the Doors of the 21st Century...his voice really doesn't suit the music

The Cult were a quite good rock they were the heavy rock band to see in the west coast in 87... then their ego exoploted especially their singer...
I heard a song of their LP of 85 ...it s impressive...i was really impress by the similarities with Jim Morisson vocally at less...Ian s voice is maybe more grave

So it dont impress me that Ian Ashbury replace the crawling king snake one day...
I m not against this reformation it depends of what will follow... but put you in the place of the new singer... Actually it is in one of the most difficult place for a singer... for some like me "they are courageous to try" for others they are ready to insult Ian Ashbury... and found this project "outrageous"

I m not against the reformed band... they ve got the right to continue... the main thing is to change partially the name of the band... they were called The Doors...
I think that legal problem obliged the band to recall themself as "21st century Doors"...but im not sure how difficult are their legal problems now

It still the Doors but a different one ...this band is something behing The Old Doors & a new different band... so this name is rightly somewhere in between...

Dont forget that if Jim was the lyricist & singer ... the other important man & master of their music is Ray Manzarek...People often forget him just because he was not in the front of the scene & dont have the impressive lizard move of Jim & the charisma but & he still here...& he has the right to remain at the command of their music since the mid 60s begining of the Doors...

I just wish one think ... that their forthcoming records are good... at less... if they respect the quality - if they still inspired... the cult of the doors will not evaporate upon venice beach

Dont forget that following the death of Jim in july 71 the band directly goes to the studio to RECORD 2 NEW DOORS RECORD...(both without a new singer) the 1st one released in the end of 71 was still good (if i can judge it by different reviews) the 2nd in 72 was quite bad...less inspired

The Band Dissapointed by their 72 release & review started to search a New Singer to Replace (at less phisically) Morisson... They search in 72-73 in America without result ... then until 1974 they traveled often to England to search a singer there... without good result too...
The band finally broke up & Ray started a good solo carreer (at the begining)

But finally they found a Brit nearly 30 years later... it s Ian Ashbury...
I dont ask u if its good or bad... we have to wait their record ... to judge them with distance...
And we dont have to compare the result with past Doors music... Time has changed...The voice & the lyrics are different...

We ve got to judge them as a New Rock Band...Cause this is what they Are

about the last post... Van Morisson will never die... if u compare it to his Irish cousin Jim... he s eternal... as Astral Weeks...

    I listen to

    Beggars Opera
    "Nimbus"
    -Waters of Change- LP 1971

The 2 first album by Beggars Opera are little Classic (this is the 2nd)...
Prog Rock with classic & psychedlic elements... superbe...its one of the most trippy new record of my summer 2006... if you like the beg. of Pink Floyd you will like them...
it include the superbe tracks ... "Silver Peacock" & "Time Machine"

I’ve never heard ‘Broke’ by Modest Mouse, but the least palatable of their 41 songs on my catalogue are ‘Every Penny Fedcat’ and ‘Mice Eat Cheese’. Those were obviously meant to be under-produced. Still, I could listen to all 41 in succession and not wander or doze.

The only Dead Milkmen song from that album I am aware of is ‘Plum Dumb’. Could have just as easily been on a Meat Puppets album, i.e. ‘Lost (on the Freeway)’. MPs are pros.

The only Dr. Octagon song I’ve heard is ‘Gorilla Driving a Pickup Truck’—Rob Sonic Road Rage Remix. Far from profound but the beat makes it listentoable.

On that particular Mobb Deep album, ‘Get Dealt With’ seems to be more on point.

The lone Sigur Ros song I listen to is 'Myrkur'. That track is better than 95% of its genre-istic counterparts.

Ignoring a vague set of rules in an attempt to appear cognizant of other posters' musical interests.

All I know of Jedi Mind Tricks is a club flyer I found on the ground October 2003, seems one of the two guys was a pudgy caucasian dressed in urban attire.

Been listening to Deep Purple "Prelude: Happiness I'm so Glad" because it is a standard jam/rock group, it is about the length it takes for me to acknowledge your post, and it has only 38 unique words, as to not overly distract me.
