Steve Miller is very american ... maybe only 2 or 3 thousand european had probably his records...they don't know what they loose...in fact i know just is early albums and the rest...this song and his commercial period...in mid 70's ...are just...mmhhhmyterious to me...
i'm like an explorator for so many artist ... and albums... the new Vasco De Gama...crossin' seas of serpents and ocean of spooky tooth monsters just to discover new land & hear new mysterious sound and the steve miller band could be one of them...

i listen a modern band sometimes

    Kula Shaker
    "Timeworm"
-Peasants, Pigs & Astronauts- LP 1999

This was the 2nd and last records of this Brit pop band ...different from others of the scene for their real Psychedelic-hindu-rock orientation

Their first album out in 1996 ...was probably more commercial and was in 1996 the best sells of a psychedelic rock band in the world...
The band disbanded in the summer 99 after the critics of the UK press and the little deception commercially of their 2nd album (2,5 millions sells?!)

i choose this song 'cause i read the news just an hour ago and Kula Shaker had reformed after nearly 7 years! the band still not so old...34-35 yo so it's cool:H

the Steve Miller Band had some huge hits in Europe though, The Joker and Fly Like An Eagle for example.

Great news about Kula Shaker reforming, one of my favorite bands from the 90's :) I had high hopes for Crispian Mills's solo project AntiMateria but it was never released and his later band The Jeevas just didn't live up to the expectations...what i missed most was a Hammond organ :H

  8. eeeeequuus, eeeequuuus. Sorry, that just reminded me of when a guy in my class had to read the part of the boy in Equus the play at school. The bit where he rides the horse naked and does you know what all over it...it was profoundly disturbing.

As for equus the band, haven't heard them

Jefferson Airplane - Wont you try / Saturday Afternoon

  15. Ok thanks, is the song about the play "Equus" by Peter Schaeffer?
If you've never seen/read it, the play is about a boy who worships a horse in a masochistic, ritualistic sexual sort of way, and then he pokes the eyes out of all the horses in the barn he works at because of the shame he feels.
