"Never, since the Second World War, has Europe been as essential. Yet never has Europe been in so much danger." Thats what he said. Never since 50 million people got slaughtered has Europe been in as much danger now because one country wants to leave. Yeah, thats almost the same "How would we resist the crises of financial capitalism without the euro, which is a force for the entire European Union?" Yep, thats also what he said, the name of their currency helps defend finiancial crisis. Why the word capitalism is in there I dont know, makes it sound marxist And he also said this "A market is useful, but it should not detract from the need for borders that protect and values that unite. The nationalists are misguided when they claim to defend our identity by withdrawing from Europe, because it is the European civilisation that unites, frees and protects us" The need for borders to protect....but supposedly conflict between Britain and Ireland will happen if they have a border....in the same speech European civilisation that unites, frees and protects them...well except for all the silicon valley tech companies, the US made weapons, all the Japanese cars and construction vehicles, all the korean made smartphones, and all the clothing, food, anything plastic made in China that is
The french spelling of the word block; bloc in the english language originated from the Entente Cordiale - Wikipedia An agreement where France an Britain agreed France could rape Morocco, Britain could rape Egypt, neither could technically rape Thailand, but they could each heavily influence parts...oh yeah, and France could rape Vietnam, we all know how that worked out. So everytime you call EU a trading bloc, you are using a word that has its origins in colonialism/ imperialism. Yes bloc in french means the same thing block does in englush As for the US, you gave the US as an example of "independant" states coming together. Regardless of anyones views on slavery, its hardly "independant" when they have a civil war if some of them want to leave
The coflict has been happening on and off for around 800 years. Supposition doesn't come into it. If we go back to a hard border between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland, back will come the IRA and the Unionist gunmen, the bombings and the rest of it which the current Good Friday peace deal has kept in check to some extent for the last few years. The troubles haven't gone away - just put on hold. It really is that simple. It's insanity for a so called government to put the fragile peace in jeopardy. Dissident Irish republicans are already saying that Brexit will be a big help to them and fuel more anti-British violence.. We've already had bombs sent to London addresses this week with Irish postmarks. Brexit is a 'huge help' to Irish republicanism, says dissident leader
3rd column has VAT/GST rates across the globe. You will notice how ridiculously high most EU countries are compared to the rest of the world. UK is low in comparison World Corporate and Income Tax Comparison Rates, VAT/GST around the world | One stop Solution to all your business needs
Van LOL sorry man that just comes across as a bit mad You rate words on their history and will only use words you think of as having a ‘clean’ history? I’m just using the word that is used in common parlance What? And the war was started by the south to keep slavery
I could work out the job titles for most of them. Minister of ministerial affairs. Minister of red tape. Minister of hot air. Minister of lame ducks. Minister of complete stupidity. And for the benefit of HF, Minister for barefoot equality.
Can't you just put it like this right away, instead of first faking as if you have a significant point.
I could take you more seriously if you were serious to begin with. But there’s no way a person of your intelligence could so grossly misrepresent what he just read accidentally. Sorry bud, I’m on to your act.
Oh yeah he suggested such horrible things. Food safety, ecological transition, European preference in industries and trade, a budget for technological innovation that would keep up with the US...
Did he remember the most important one,? European standard for uniform level of mediocrity. In other words, too many cooks spoil the broth. Just imagine "Eurosoup", with 27 countries throwing ingredients into a blender and we would all be expected to eat it. Laugh as much as you like. That is how the EU works and it will be it's ultimate downfall.
I think the fear of cultures and identity of individual countries absolving through a better functioning EU is misplaced and exaggerated. If you look how western cultures and societies have changed in the last lets say 70 years, sure. It is significant. But is it predominantly due to globalisation or unwanted foreign influences or more to technological and industrial advancement and individual freedom of choice?
