I've been taking some shots in the woods near my home, looking for some color in this drab winter landscape.... there's a lot to see if you look close enough! I'll be updating the thread with more pics as I go through them. Feel free to post your own close-up macros if you got 'em! Enchanted fungus
^^^Thats a cool one...Yeah it's hard to get a good focus sometimes. My camera is just an entry-level digital, I can only get so close. I was thinking It might be easier with a tripod for the camera to get a focus while using the macro setting.
Macro photography is really cool but it's hard to capture. A tripod would have to be better. Do you have a dedicated macro lens?
not even sure if the pictures i took are considered "macro." i took them all with a cheap digital camera by kodak. 14 megapixels, only 3x optical zoom... 32mm - 96mm (equivalent) for me, the macro setting is a picture of a flower, not a different lens haha.
Jeez, there's a quota on positive votes? We're only allowed to be so nice. lol Those are absolutely gorgeous shots, Thep and Porkstock! I haven't tried my macro setting yet. You guys have inspired me!
Here's my first attempt at macro. Not much out there, I couldn’t find any worms or mushrooms! My lens can't get close enough, I'll have to practice longer shots. pinecone piece of wood, with eyes (one glass, :-D ) and a mohawk remnants of a nest curled up leaf lichen - this looked really neat, too bad it's out of focus
Wow Lucy! Some really awesome detail in some of those shots, the pine cone and the leaf are my favs. My shots seem grainy by comparison
