You should have a print screen key on your keyboard. Press that, then open MSPaint and paste it in there, then save it as a JPEG. I've been watching it, the moon is just right to see out my front door. Daniel's got the telescope and camera and has been taking pictures. Very cool!
the video has an ad before it lets you watch it. so i had to sit through an ad to watch a video of a lunar eclipse which is occurring right outside my window, right above that thiiiick layer of clouds. clouds which are taunting me because they're thick and its cold and the air smells of snow....except its not snow, because its never snow. So i'm missing out on a lunar eclipse because of some wannabe snow clouds, and instead i'm watching advertisements on nasa's website. lol i'm so annoyed right now. this lunar eclipse has brought me no joy. i'm off to bed, to bed i said..
Arse and tits. I went to craiglockhart hill and the visibility was good, started taking picturesand got about as far as until nearly half the moon was covered by shadow... then it clouded over So after that I saw fuck all of the event, it remained overcast until about an hour ago when the sun came up and now it's clear blue skies Still, I got loads of nice panoramics which I will upload later. Going to make some coffee and an omelette now. It was fucking baltic up there as well, thank god the wind was not too strong or else I think I would have died.
Here is a panoramic shot of edinburgh I took just before it clouded over. You can in the second photo, which is >360 how the clouds were moving in as I went round taking each shot. The moon was just entering the lunar eclipse at this point. And here is the sun rising later, after the clouds had dispersed.
Thanks I am just toying with the idea of going back out and taking a few more shots, maybe of arthur's seat because it's such a clear night, but a. I am fucking tired b. it is fucking cold as hell out side! so I probably wont. Would be worth it though. I am just thinking of the pain of frost bite in my fingers.
I saw the moon disappear, but not it turning red :/ Was too foggy here. It was really dark though! Don't really care to watch a video, guess I'll catch it again when I'm not somewhere so damn foggy. Oh yeah, thanks tom your times were spot on :2thumbsup:
Here it is in 4 bits so you can see the detail a bit better. If you lookclosely you can see Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat.
It was pretty cool here, before the eclipse started the sky was totally clear, and there was a massive halo around the moon. Some overcast came in as the eclipse started but it added to the mood as the moon disappeared into the Earth's shadow with thin clouds all around it. It was pretty amazing from how bright it went at near midnight from how crisp and clear the air was to pitch black just over 2 hours later.
great pictures! i watched it mostly online because of the cloud cover. now i have to live unto 2094 for the next one on the winter solstice..
I actually missed it. I set two alarms. One failed and the other wasn't quite loud enough and I slept right through. But I did get some good sleep.
