I use hand cream when I'm in the mood. But I like not using any at all it gets me going more. But alas my skin is kind of sensitive down there so I probably should use it. I've never bought lube before but I likely will whenever I get the money.

Dont know if this would be the right topic for this.

Is there anything I should stay away from using as anal lube? I have Safeway brand moisturizing lotion on hand. Would that cause burning or discomfort?

You are better off sticking to water and silicone based lubricants. If you want to go to safeway, walk over to the condom aisle, usually, you can find KY Jelly or other lubes. If you have access to a sex positive store, you can usually find superior lubricants that last for longer periods. Check out the Wikipedia article below. It is well written.

Good Luck and happy deep-dickin :)

If you're just pleasuring yourself then I don't see any problem with moisturizing lotion. I don't know so maybe someone can confirm it but I think I read somewhere that an oil-based lubricant might harbour bacteria more than something water-based.

If, however, you were using a condom you would want to use a water-based lubricant because anything else will cause the latex to break down which renders the condom useless. Some toys may also suffer damage if used with an oil-based lubricant.

Another type I haven't tried before is silicon-based lubricant. Apparently it never dries up. I'm curious to try it.

Right now I usually use a brand called Wet although I usually grab a few mini sampler lubes from the rack just to try some different ones.

Silicon-based lubes are also safe with condoms. I like to use JO system (silicon) lube when I'm on the bottom. My boyfriend likes boy butter (oil based) when he's on the bottom, I enjoy this one as well. Though oil based lubes aren't safe with condoms. You should be fine using the lotion if it's for personal use... however there are much better lubricants out there.
