Fishy to say the least . . . they must have their steaks very rare.

might be onto something there.. might be a sick cow from eating ergot that they sold off anyway. lsd doesn't make you "gravely ill" but ergot does

A little news on ergot and cattle...

    http://ianrnews.unl.edu/ergot-poisoning-concern-cattle-year

From what I've read we are back to making feed out of sick cows again, too, so it's easy to see how serious this could get. Plus, if they want to keep selling this meat they need a cover-up story, like LSD.

Bet they find a patsy and prove he put LSD in that bottom round and then the news will just go away...

    Meanwhile...

Oh, and there's a big beef recall right now (not the Walmart one)that is happening because the meat is "not fit for human consumption" but they are not being clear as to why.

Ergot poisoning in cattle doesn't taint the meat, according to the article.

According to the article. I'm not sure how concerned they were about that testing though. It's more a informative article to ranchers wondering what wrong with the cows. I posted it just to show that ergot poisoning in cows is happening right now, or recently. If it's still in the meat after it's all said and done? I don't know.

Yeah I agree that it's more for farmers information, but it does state unequivocally "Ergot poisoning does not affect meat from cattle."

My gut feeling is that it wasn't LSD or any lysergamides, but who knows. I found it odd that the story broke right after the first published studies of LSD in 40 yrs hit the news waves.

This was already discussed in another thread... and I'll say the same thing that I said there.
