Everyone keeps calling it a "3rd World Country".... it's not. I've lived in the "3rd world". This is much worse. In the 3rd world, I could walk around by myself at night and no one would touch me. I could lose my wallet, and have it returned to me with my cash still in it. Most people had nothing, but they always have had nothing, so they didn't sweat it. The people in N.O. had everything, even if it was considered nothing by the high North American standards.... which is why its turned into "Lord of the Flies" land.
Never go thru a big natural disaster with out firearms . not only did looting happen in New Orleans but it did in Homestead florida during the 1992 Hurricane Andrew . Floridian are better armed so less looting took place.
I just hope they weren't using those kind of guns just to get people out of the stores....if so that is pitiful and it don't make sense, when they need food and clothes and they were worrying about looters!!!!
Uh, thanks? Do you really believe that? Where do you get your information? What happened to you to make you think that way? What would I have to do to get you to think another way?
i grew up there. hate it. with a passion you probably will never understand. the false smiles, the brown sky, the dirty cold water, the MASS consumerism, the air quality warnings (don't jog outside today), the cost of living. it's all pretty much shit in my view.
Well, yeah. But that pretty much describes every city in the country. Los Angeles wasn't, and still isn't, my first choice (Now THERE'S a long story). But despite the fires, the riots, the earthquakes, the smog, the greed, the traffic and the fucking film crews blocking our street once again, it's not altogether a bad place to live. However, I do plan on moving to Portland, OR within the next five years or so.
yeah, i'm not a fan of cities, to be perfectly honest. but it's not just the cities. it's the whole damned southland. everywhere i went. i hated it. there's just no sense.
