Is this about them handing out chips at that hempfest.along with info on the mj laws? If so I heard I clip about that on tv somewhere last night.

Fuck the police. I smell a rat, quite honestly. I mean, what is the purpose of this? It seems to be getting a lot of attention, too. Is there some sort of deal with Frito-Lay and the police? Any enlightened pot smoker wouldn't eat that poison shit anyway. I wouldn't.

When I used to go to some of the bigger raves cops would be there all the time... in Baltimore and D.C. especially as a presence... people would be smoking weed and taking E right in front of them and not worry... they'd often dance to the music and give people lights and stuff... and as far as I could gather their only purpose of being there was to be a presence to deter violence and other bad things.
That said, upon further thought, they may have been there to spy on the scene and see what was really going on. (they didn't even give us any food though!)

So I would look at those same reasons for why the cops would be at hempfest. Or the frito lay thing.

I don't like it when the cops are given orders to be nice, and then they're suddenly "cool" with gullible people falling for it. I don't trust any cop, or any propaganda campaign designed to alter their image and gain them respect they don't deserve.

 

or maybe the police are elated that they no longer have to waste time, energy and money arresting and prosecuting people for pot, DUH!

I promise you there are just as many cops happy about this and pushing for legalization as there are stoners,.......well maybe not as many as the stoners, but you get my point.

Fuck that. There is no need for the police to even be there. This is just so people will accept their presence and whatever ulterior motives they have up their sleeves. I call bullshit.

 

In response to both of these posts... at the events I was at that the police were there... just standing around, smiling...dancing...giving people lights...
We pretty much knew they were there to watch for violence and make sure it was a peaceful scene.(Kinda like crowd control- they way they are at concerts sometimes.) They didn't care about drugs. (not weed and mdma anyways... wouldn't wanna shoot dope or smoke crack in front of them to test that.
But also... I DID say they may have been scoping out the scene at worst...because a couple years later-literally 2 yrs...all those crackhouse laws and stuff, making raves very hard to throw came into play, so who knows?.)

 

What's that have to do with anything? I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. DUI's happen to the best of people. Judging someone because they have been arrested (I still haven't been found guilty of the offense) is pretty unfair, I think. Cops, on the other hand, have time and time again proven to be sadistic thugs. And if they're not, they still serve an agenda that is sadistic and evil. I don't trust any cop as far as I can throw them.

 

It's because, despite all your awareness and enlightenment, you fucked up when a cop asked you a question.

 

Yeah, I have bad anxiety and my thought process turns to shit when I am nervous. Since the cop smelled weed, I figured I would be better off just telling the truth. I realized very quickly after that I was wrong. I don't think that makes me unenlightened, though.

 

Didn't you answer that you smoked earlier when asked, Matt? In that case, yes, you should have known being honest like that with a cop rarely works. (it has worked for me before but I'm a female and have brought on the tears and gotten left off...)... but anyways, I don't think you can say some is or isn't enlightened based on one judgement call. And on that note of the judgement call when people are being questioned by the police I guarantee it's hard to think straight when being confronted with the cops...all you know can go out the window fast...

 

But it's ok for him to say that one is or is not enlightened because of the choice to eat doritos.

Rat is all talk and rightousness when it comes to pigs and when the time came in real life, he wasn't able to put any of that cop awareness into practice, no matter his excuse.
