Im loving HBR right now too! They are currently one of my favorite touring bands. Great songwriters and musicians. Idk why but I get a similar vibe from them as STS9 - something that just reaches deep. I think if you mixed those bands then turned then energy nob up a bit youd get something close to SCI.

hippie-mcp: agreed a mesh of HBR and STS9 would be cheese-esque. but personally I loved the more traditional blue grass cheese side. Their first set on the final night of red rocks this summer which was all the old bluegrass classic was heavenly for me.

    Sts9: sound tribe sector nine
hbr/hbrsb: hot Buttered Rum String Band
    RRE: Railroad Earth
    EOTO: well that's their name

not to drive this off topic, but have you seen RAQ wonka? thoughts?

ha now i feel like an idiot. i guess since all the media I had ever seen on them only said eoto I assumed that's what it was. Zilla's good, but I just can't dig on it all the time.

I think if i could get kang to play in my living room i'd die of joy.

Is that the band he recorded never odd or even with (that guy really loves pallendromes). I'd be happy if he toured with anyone - I really enjoy his solo work.
...But Jason smarts free and the two of them together would be amazing - I know that probably won't happen but I can dream. Everyone loves to make up their own "supergroup' of who would be great together.
