On the old hipforums, I asked for information about hip places in the U.K. since, if everything goes right, I'm going to the U.K. on vacation in September. I got some good suggestions of places to visit, but... I don't remember what the "hip" places in the U.K., so if possible, I'd like some suggestions of some worthwhile places to visit in the U.K. (I don't know if there's a British version of Haight-Asbury, but I hope there is).
Stone Henge for the solstices would be a good place to try, it's a beautiful locaion even if you're not there for the pagan, new-age gathering. Glastonbury festival is a good place to meet hippies, even if it has become a little commercialised. Beautiful Days festival is probably your best bet though, on the 21st and 22nd of August this year, it's an annual hippy esque festival, very free spirited.... www.beautifuldays.org
