It's a file host. Apparently, one of the largest file hosts there is. Thing is, although it offers a ton of really cool features and functionality, it's also loaded with dangerous cryptomining software, annoying popups, and other irritants. For those of you familiar with the site, I'm looking for an alternative that has ALL the same features and functionality of Openload.co, but without any of the extra added bull****. Can anyone recommend any? I've tried Google, and have been looking for about a week, but haven't found one yet.

Yeah, that sucks. I wouldn't keep using it either with all that stuff.

Although this thread isn't a day old yet and we do have some software saffy folks around that know a lot imo (even up to date stuff) AND react to threads like these :) , I have the feeling hardly anyone here uses openload. Even folks who have also use for large filesharing programs. I never heard of it either..
So what are the most important features and functionalities of Openload.co that an alternative should have? Maybe someone here happens to know one!

Another tip: post this thread also in the most appropriate subforum. Maybe someone who frequents it and can help you doesn't visit Random thoughts or surfs via New content/posts ;)
And of course: just give it a few days. And laugh with or simply ignore the (attempts at) humorous posts.

Dropbox isn't public i think. You can transfer files to other people(s accounts) but only if you share a folder with them.

Dropbox is good. I do have a Dropbox account but I can't use it for some of the things I can use Openload for.

I've been asking the same question on various sites throughout the day. Well, about the last 7 hours or so. And I've decided to just give up. The overall consensus is, for what I'm looking for, there's nothing better than Openload, and that I just need to suck it up and put up with all the shit. Easy enough. I've got uBlock Origin with the NoCoin filter list installed and that's taking care of the popups and, hopefully, the cryptomining, so I'm just gonna stick with Openload. Thanks anyway. :)

    He doesn't.

What about Google drive or OneDrive? Both work well, unless you have privacy/ethical concerns about them.

Thanks but for what I'm looking for, I've decided to just stick with what I've got.

What's the big advantage of Openload.co (if you don't mind enlightening us tech barbarians ;)), captain?

No prob, but I already answered that on another forum so I'll just copy and paste here.

It allows porn. Viewers can easily save a video just by right-clicking on it without having to click a special download link. I like being able to change the title of a video once I've uploaded it and decide whether or not to have that title appear at the top of the video when I embed it. And I like being able to upload my own custom "splash image" for a video, without being forced to choose one of the frames from the video for a splash image. Another great thing is its subtitles feature. Being able to upload a subtitles file and add it to a video, and being able to allow viewers to add their own subtitles file. And, before I forget, as well as videos, ya can also upload audio, still and animated images, and documents. So it's great. And there's no other site out there exactly like it. But all that great shit comes at a heavy price, unless ya have the right protection installed on your browser.

Also named in this thread already, yay! You learn something new every day. Lets hope esp. the mining is properly blocked.

I like google drive. It's easy to share with people. You've got to have gmail though I think.
