Battle Royale by Koushun Takami It's one of the most fucked up book that keeps you reading with awesome plot twists. Go read it. I give the book 5 stars out of 5.
Trainspotting - Irvine Welsh... about a bunch of Scottish heroin addicts... a bunch of little stories that all interwoven. He actually writes it in a Scottish dialect... very interesting. NAKED LUNCH - William S. Burroughs... I can't believe someone hasn't already said this! It's a fucking classic, and it's the definition of strange and crazy plot. I don't even really know what it's about, and I've read it twice.
Candles Burning by Tabitha King and Michael McDowell - I'm a tough critic; but this is an Excellent read. Many twists - makes you want to cry and laugh. btw..Tabitha King is Stephen King's wife, and Joe Hill's mother. She was entrusted, asked to complete this novel after the death of M. McDowell - even She says this book turned out different than how it began... or some such. Anyway, it's worth anybody's while to read, I think.
I can't believe Burroughs wasn't mentioned earlier either. I haven't read Naked Lunch but I heard it was about an exterminator who becomes addicted to the stuff he uses to kill roaches. Also Cities of the Red Night. I'm not sure how to describe it. It's about pirates and a child being abducted. Not a very linear book. Also by Burroughs. I think it's part of a trilogy.
