Longest you've left bleach in your dreads...

Does bleaching your tips actually make them lock up better or is that just a rumor. I am probably gonna bleach them anyway later but I was just wondering.

 

what did you use? a shop bought bleach [from a box] or that sun-in stuff or something else

 

rumor... it may change the texture of the hair and may appeal to lock up quicker for some, but I say bs. Hair tangles at it's own rate...end of story.

 

bleach made my head crunchy and crispy (yeah alright, it was frazzled at the ends) and it just all broke off. didnt lock better/quicker at all

yea ,but how would you go about applying the bleach. Do ya just dunk your head ,i kinda have dark hair wow its raining hard outside I have dark hair that stays the yellow-brown phase. Longest I kept in beach was about this whip cream isgood ..moving on I kept it in for as long as maybe an hour ,but how to appy it this kind of confuses me a bit as to how enlighten this idiot.

 

It seems to make hair shrink up faster from what I've seen. I had two friends who both got their locks the same day, same way, etc except the one continued to bleach her hair. When they started there hair was probably just under the bosoms, now* a year later* one lost almost no length and the one who bleached has shrunk up to her shoulders.

bleach dries out the hair so it makes sense :/

 

True dat. I was just planning on dying the tips cuz I just like the look but I am planning on waiting about 6 months or so.

 

2 one hour processes. so 2 hours total, but in 2 different rounds.
