What you have to remember, is he is probably a retired police officer, or prison officer, helping old ladies to the right place! It is after all, a tourist place! Why would you pay police and etc wages, when that guy probably has all the knowledge the professionals have, but non of the pressure!

We are not a gun culture country, why would we be? Guns in the wrong hands create more gun crime..Best left to criminals and specialist police, oh and Airport police, forgot they have guns too.
