London Has Fallen Movie Blurb by Shale March 4, 2016 This movie caught me by surprise and I wasn't aware that it was a sequel to Olympus Has Fallen (2013), not to be confused with White House Down (2013) the same movie with different actors. So, I rewatched that movie tonite to refresh myself. http://www.hipforums.com/forum/topic/441240-olympus-has-fallen/ The main characters are the same and the movie opens with President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) jogging with his close Secret Service Agent, Mike Banning (Gerard Butler). The original movie opened with them boxing in the White House gym. When the British Prime Minister suddenly dies, all the heads of state from around the world come to his funeral. Ya see where this is going. Asher and Banning as well as the head of the Secret Service, Lynne Jacobs (Angela Bassett) head off to London. As soon as all the world leaders are in London the attacks begin, just like in the assault on the White House only they have a whole city to trash. This deadly mayhem was planned for a couple of years by arms dealer and terrorist Aamir Barkawi (Alon Moni Aboutboul) and he has put infiltrators in place as first responders and police. London Burning And, of all the world leaders, the one they really want is the U.S. President because one of the U.S. drone attacks targeting Barkawi missed him and killed his daughter and other family & friends at her wedding. So, the action really heats up with Banning and Asher separated from all other help trying to get out of London with untrustworthy cops roaming the streets. Prez & Secret Service Agent on the Run Banning knows an MI-6 agent "Jax" Marshall (Charlotte Riley) and goes to her safe house to plan an evacuation. There are intrigues as Jax suspects a mole in MI-6 (same as the traitor Secret Service agent in the original movie) Of course the terrorists, as in the last movie, have Internet access and have managed to take over much of the Web, allowing them to show videos all over the world. The plan is to execute the president on live feed. No real demands are being made but they have C2C communication with the Vice President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) who got a promotion from Speaker of the House since he was acting president in the last movie. Veep & Staff Watching Terrorism And, just like in the last movie, Banning is a brutal commando fighter when taking out the bad guys and doesn't refrain from twisting his knife after stabbing them. Agent takes out Terrorist in subway This movie only got a 25% fresh rating from the aggregate critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Their consensus was; "London Has Fallen traps a talented cast – and all who dare to see it – in a mid-1990s basic-cable nightmare of a film loaded with xenophobia and threadbare action-thriller clichés." Ouch, like a twisting knife in Agent Bannings hand. I wonder if they are going to make a sequel to White House Down. If it wasn't destroyed in this movie maybe 10 Downing Down.
True, when the first CGI was used in Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (1982) it was quite innovative, but now we need the next generation (no pun intended) of advanced fractal geometry to create more realistic images Hotwater
