The IPCC has just said they have no evidence that Mark Duggan opened fire on police last thursday.

Cue more riots then following that judgment I predict.

i don't go so far, just observed that since i started watching sun weather, large numbers of people regularly get really upset right in occasion of events. but i also believe that people reacts in response of several different important inputs. one is being fuck angry beacuse of the cops. one is being poor and hopeless. one could be sunspots, flares and CMEs. another major one is the imminent police reaction. now, sun is powerful, but so far away. the police is a cloud of farts but lingers very close. never underrate its stink.

That should give you a good idea of what people see when their country is invaded, just a bunch of punks killing and destroying. That IS war, what were you expecting?

Occam's razor is not "The simplest explanation is usually the best" or words to that effect, it is about seperating unnecessary assumptions (such as "these people are idiots") to better perceive the situation. It doesn't always mean the simplest explanation.

The only thing that surprises me is that this didn't happen sooner. I'm not going to keep repeating myself, I've already indicated the fact that people are a reflection of their society, their culture, or to put it more succinctly: their environment. You can say these people are idiots and that they need to try and get jobs and be valued members of their society or whatever but really you are talking about your society as you perceive it.

They are valued members of their society. A society which involves violence, criminality and overall distrust of authority. They have honed the attributes which make them prominent members of their own societies. For them to adhere to the rules of "normal" people, they would first have to become a part of "normal" society, which they have been apart from for some decades.

Moreover, the attitude of snubbing "benefit sponges" and the like is what has produced this situation. Why would they want to join a society that snubs them? That doesn't trust them? That HATES them? They wouldn't, all they would do is return that hate. That's what's happening.

It's time for people to get out of their bubbles, this is their last chance before their bubbles are popped.

You need to understand the human being and the human mind in general, also human development in order to have a shot at surmising why these things are happening, it is no good just to understand how your own mind works and think it should apply to everybody. I have yet to hear a genuine analysis of this situation, except possibly by Ken Livingstone but he was obviously being soft for the TV audience's sake. Is anybody who understands human development being given a platform on which to speak out from? No.

It's the same as any other situation in most of history, a load of people that don't understand the fundamentals of a situation spouting their opinion and I'm not just talking about these forums, I'm talking about in the media, in government, the police and the public.

Leave a man in the sun and he will get a sun tan. Lock him indoors and his skin will grow pallid and pale. These people are doing all that they know how to do, they are reacting to their environment with what they have learned, which is all any of us do. Bear in mind that if you are condemning them, they have been condemning you; saying "That stupid **** with his house and his job, doesn't he understand how life really works? Doesn't he see what it is really like on the streets? Doesn't he know that all coppers are bastards and the rich shit on the poor?"

And this attitude that they should "get jobs and be valued members of society"... You're basically saying that they should shit on their values and shit on their friends and families and join the big competition where everyone shits on each other and tries to accumulate as much as they can before anyone else gets their hands on it, that's what they hear. It is not too different from their own version of that, which they are living, but it is still not going to happen. To a lot of people, this mainstream lifestyle of having a house, job and car is harmful to the world and mindless, exploitative and inconsiderate. It fuels the big machine that's crushing the planet. They would never, ever want to be a part of it because then they would be one of the faceless twats in their selfish bubble, although they don't realise that they're in that bubble anyway.

And some of the details of those being prosecuted have come through. The lists include university students and graduates, people coming in from outside London from areas that are not considered hotbeds of antisocial behaviour, basically "normal" people that took their chance to express their anger. I myself would gladly riot. I am poor and uneducated but I am not malicious, I wouldn't hurt people if I could help it (obviously people would indirectly be harmed one way or another) but I would gladly smmash the shops and banks as physical manifestation of my anger with this society.

Iran chides UK over riots, Europeans watch anxiously

"It must be weird for Londoners to read travel advisory from foreign countries against the UK; usually the other way around," tweeted Gulf social commentator Mishaal al-Gergawi from a region that has witnessed a lot of civic unrest in the Arab Spring.

How should I know? I've never even touched a gun in my life, apart from one of those pellet guns that kids used to shoot birds with when I was younger.

The reality is we will probably never really know what happened that day. I could probably guess the police were heavy handed, panicked and fucked up, like they did with Menezes in 2005.

Ooops, sorry, I wasn't aiming that at you, I meant the dumbarses that are "ballistic testing" the weapon.

Menezes.... Fucked up is the word. You can find the CCTV on youtube to see what really happened that day. I'm surprised there weren't riots about that.

I love this... I can't understand why nobody thinks "Shit, we have a lot of criminals and hooligans in our midst, maybe we are doing something wrong?"

This is the thing, eveeryone will blame everyone else, point the finger to all kinds of reason. They should try pointing the finger at themselves.
