Alicia Bay Laurel returns to her hippie roots in the Santa Rosa area with a full performance of her new musical "Living on the Earth."[/color] Alicia Bay Laurel, singer/songwriter/guitarist, legendary as bestselling author/illustrator, beloved in Japan and elsewhere as an icon of natural living, will be here in Sonoma County for one solo concert of her eclectic, heart-felt and personal songs. Alicia will be performing "Living on the Earth: The Musical." In it, she tells, in edgy stories and original songs, how she came to create the legendary communal/sustainable living guide Living on the Earth in 1969, and what transpired afterwards. This bohemian artist, author and slack key master will be featuring the local Afro-Celt Folk Pop band The Round as her opening act. This is the first appearance for The Round since reforming the band, and is not to be missed! There will be a book and CD signing after the show. This concert is presented in conjunction with the exhibition titled "The Hippies" opening on October 30th at the West County Museum in Sebastopol CA, featuring art and artifacts from the 1960s-70s communes, including Wheeler Ranch, where Alicia Bay Laurel created her book. Tickets are $15 for students, $20 general admission.
