I remember back in the 80s and 90s driving around town looking for porn magazines, music stores, and movies to rent, etc. Imagine all of the gas I used driving around for all of those years. And I'm just one person. How much gas would all of the people using the internet today be using to drive around looking for that stuff? And think of all the people driving to, or getting driven to the library to check out books for school study material, or just for something to read, if there wasn't an internet. How much more paper would be needed for those books, and plastic for cds and movies to meet the new demand? Just a thought.
so how much do we rely on the internet? quite a lot, so what happens if the oil runs out and the lights go out and internet is rationed or not available, thats what i meant in my last post here and why books are valuable sources of information and knowledge. so much is here on the www that we take for granted now but by no means is it all written elsewhere. just imagine if govts or tyrants burnt books again as has happened so many times throughout history none of us want to live without it but it could and might happen thats my thoughts.
