Don't quite understand what you are saying here. Are you saying that a mentally unbalanced man's reaction to typical everyday word usage was motivated by the Right's invention and use of "Political Correctness", and that this usage turned him into a Liberal psychopath? Since when is using the word's "reporting out in the field", for out of station reporting a political correct term? I don't get it.
A person could go nuts trying to figure out how a psychopath actually thinks. This man was clearly unbalanced and should never have been allowed to obtain a gun. Not that I think that would have limited him. He could just as easily have used a machete in this attack. The weapon was not the issue, his mind was. It will be interesting to hear the motivation behind the obvious execution of a deputy in Texas at a gas station. If a recent "movement" really has declared a war on cops and white people, we will not know any peace and justice will also become a casualty. No good comes from these kinds of threats and killings. Why should anyone discuss anything with people who advocate killing people to score their misguided idea of "justice"?
I KNEW this would turn into an anti-gun thing... :sultan: gad...that is also the stupidest thing that could even be brought up in this situation, as far as I'm concerned. He could have done the same thing with a knife...he would just have had to act faster. He didn't have a record (or so I've understood), so there would have been no reason he couldn't obtain a gun. ____________________________________ Its good the victims are being recognized, as should happen. It seems people are trying to move toward remembering the victims more... It should be made law or something that the shooters names should never be mentioned, but just given a number or something... shooter #25.
But what if he DIDN'T act faster? It's hard to kill multiple people with a knife, if they all run in different directions.
This is serious...so I'm not going to make an inappropriate joke here. What I think is that he was a crazy delusional sociopath that would have planned "better" if a gun was not available to him, and he would have made time for at least one good stab each before he was caught... There was time I worked with "crazy" people...its hard to remain freakin totally PC every minute when I'm discussing someone like this nut-job/asshole/murderer. I'm quite glad he killed himself. Often people like that don't...its like 50/50 (my own statistics)
What I'm trying to say is why would you defend modern society's cultural shift into hypersensitivity and political correctness, when events like this one illustrate how some people take their sensitivity and offensiveness to extreme levels? Political correctness and people's knee-jerk reactions to such words and phrases are a pox on humanity. Take a look at Tumblr. That's exactly the thing. Reporting out in the field was always casual reporter terminology until someone decided it was offensive. Just like how "fat" used to be a casual adjective, but now that's offensive so they changed it to obese, which was later changed to overweight, then changed it once more to plus-sized, because certain people found it too offensive. To assimilate hate speech with being politically incorrect is wrong on so many levels.
I really don't know what Tumblr is, I have heard the term. I am not defending the cultural shift you mention, only pointing out that it was manufactured by the right to attack the left and that they are the ones responsible. I am not aware that "out in the field" was found offensive by anyone other than the shooter. I could be wrong. I agree that "political correctness" is a pox and that it is being used to engender division in the name of unification.
Extreme political correctness is a problem for liberals too, when we're perceived as not being liberal enough. Has nothing to do with this crime. Nuts will be nuts.
Go right ahead and reduce the city to ashes; no one will stop you. Oh, that’s right you’re not angry for being methodically abused by the system for generations, the police don’t target you daily because of the color of your skin, you’re unemployment rate isn’t 10.5%, and your community isn’t constantly plagued by drugs, gang warfare, and gun violence. Pardon me, I misunderstood your previous post as an apologist message promoting PC culture. To answer your questions, Tumblr is a blog website that has an alarming number of hypersensitive users who are easily offended by words and phrases that don't line up with their beliefs. For example one user got bombarded with hate mail and death threats from her fan base and other users for using the word "tranny" rather than transgender.
I always thought "tranny" referred to an automobile transmission, as in I need to get my tranny rebuilt. Guess I'd be in deep doo doo on Tumblr. Can I say doo doo?
I heard about one forum that won't even let you put f*** in a post, because they say "everybody knows what that means". Fuck that!
No. To "do" or "doo" someone is to have sexual intercourse with them, likewise to "shoop shooba doobie, like scoobie doobie doo" describes a sexual position which objectifies and degrades women. Get your patriarchal, objectifying sexist attitudes off of the forums. Could you please just ban yourself?
Also "Shoop Shooba Dooby," and "Scooby Dooby Doo" both contain the word "Dooby" which is a slang term for a Marijuana cigarette. And we all know that Marijuana is a gateway drug for stronger more addictive drugs. C/S, Rev J
We still talking about this guy? Ill say again, just a complete arsehole No bullshit mental excuses No bullshit race, orientation or not getting enough hugs from mommy excuses Just a whiney self entitled arsehole. Full stop
Actually I considered giving myself a two week ban one time for an idiotic post I made, but I talked myself out of it. Really.
