Little Mosque on the Prairie

At times like this im very silent and soaking in the discussion feeling like a wide eyed child.

 

It's usually the people who sit on the side listening who have the best perspective.

 

That or God because he knows all and if you don't agree, I'll wage war on Texas.

 

I work with and eat lunch with a lot of Muslims, their all really good people. It's not like someones going to be wicked just because they've been indoctrinated into a faith because of where they were born.

I do think however, that we should confuse the people, with the message of Islam that's often preached, which is one of subjugation, which is what Islam means. Islam means submission to god.

The problem with that is, what they will be serving, is an imams interpretation, which in parts of the world, is still very frequently violent and misogynistic. Don't get me wrong, the religion of Christianity isn't any better either. There are despicable acts of racism still carried out all the time because of peoples Christian induced beliefs.

I just don't believe the message of what someone preaches should be ignored because we've all accepted that religion is off limits to criticize.

What I hope is that the media generation will shine a light on the absurdness of all this hate and intolerance taught, which I think this show is a wonderful example of, if I'm understanding it right. (Of illumination)

I think the show does nothing except promote the racist, white mans dominant hegemony over the deconstructed popular.

Those aren't muslims. They are what we want muslims to be.

Its not just about muslims, its about muslims IN a small town rural setting. Small towns are usually the most racists and thats what makes is somewhat funny.

I should really watch the show before I give my opinions on it.

 

One of my best friends in the whole world is Muslim from Algeria/France. I even share a patent with her. That said Islam is more than just a religion, it is a political entity seeking influence over all, and for that reason alone it should be feared.

That new super mosque in planning in the UK scares the shit out of me.

With a building that big it will overshadow even the churches.
