    Did you know..

The light produced by the firefly is the most efficient light ever made. Almost 100 percent of the energy in the chemical reaction is emitted as light; in comparison, an incandescent light bulb only emits 10 percent of its energy as light, the other 90 percent is lost as heat.

I went to see the Boogie Wonder Band (which was awesome...hahaha) and fireworks last night. The fireflies were EVERYWHERE. I don't know if I like them or not anymore and I'll tell you why. I love their lights and I have good memories of them and still think they can be so pretty. But they were flying IN MY FACE and landing on me continually. I would jump and run away from blanket (I'm such a girl) and my husband would be like "It's just a lightening bug! Sheesh!" ... so then he tells our son "they're just saying hi!!!".... so my 3 year old would come up to me every time a lightening bug would land on me and go "mommy, they're just saying hi!!!"...

then I'm in line for the bathroom. and a kid in line ahead of me was like "two lightening bugs just landed on your shoulders" (and then went on to tell me how he wants to catch some).

But anyways... I do like them .... but.... is it too much to say, not ON me?

It's understandable you wouldn't want this apparently menacing; yet in truth docile, bioluminescent monstrosity on your shoulder

Yea, honestly, as pretty as they are far away w their lights and stuff... up close they're a bit scary looking.

And about bugs in general (esp. flying ones) I tend to have a mantra about them. I like you just fine... I won't mess with you, hurt you, kill you or even be bothered by you.... if you don't touch me". :)

But yea still, a lightening bug being on you is still a lot better than many other flying insects.

My mom made a post today on another site (she's a bit dramatic but still, she's not a liar) saying "Warning... Strange Bee Like Creature was in my car today"....and went on to say that there was a very very large creature in her car at the grocery store parking lot today that was like a big, ugly bee ...but it wasn't a bee and she's never seen anything like it... not when she was in Asia, or South America, or Central America, or Sierra Lionne .... (and on and on and on all the places she's went to on mission trips).....
Anyways, I was like "that's just what I needed to hear today, thanks".
