OP may be right, it could be a shitty stemless without diffusion, so the lighter could go in but not line up to come out, and still be blown with one piece. Make your roommate either buy you a new one, or give him the option of sitting and rapidly turning it upside down until the lighter is lucky enough to line up and cone out. Or, barring that, until it breaks the inside when he flips it and he still owes you.
It is NOT going to blow his fucking face off!! Seriously, I've left lighters in the dash of the car in summer with no explosions. I highly doubt the temps in a bong are going to exceed those of a closed car in the sun for 9 hours in 90 degree weather. I've thrown them into BBQ pits, it takes a couple of minutes in direct flame and hot coals before it goes, and then it is more like a jet of flame rather than an explosion. I say leave it as a joke; You pack bowl and hand bong to unsuspecting friend friend asks "where's a lighter?" you reply "I just handed it to you, look inside"
I agree. Don't forget that the lighter is in the water which will cool it down. The idea that it will explode could only come from some stoners
throw all your other lighters away.. when the only way to light yer bowl is the lighter in ya bong.. yer'll find a way to get the fooker out :mickey:
The only thing I would worry about is the butane leaking into the water and the smoke picking up a few butane chemicals in the smoke. I don't even know if that's possible, but it may be hazardous.
Flood the bong, fill it full of water. Lighters float vertically, metal end down. The lighter should float to the top How can you get it in but not out, i can't picture how thats possible
I thought it had something to do with the Davidians and what happened in Waco. I don't get it though.
I'm so confused. And I wish the OP would come back and give us an update. Or else we're just wasting our breath.
