i was taking a shower and i was thinking about life for some reason i dont know why, but i came up with the idea life is one big test , to see how strong someone is, i dont know if this makes sense, but o well, i was thinking people put you throught things because its a test , its a test to see if your a strong person who can think, talk for them selves, You know what im trying to Say, it God's Way to see how good of a person you really are. What do you all Think about This ??? ( Does this make Sense ) I Think that is the coolest picture
"Life's a mission", Catholic propoganda. Life is a test if you want it to be a test... it's that simple...... life is whatever you want it to be. Life is you!
I'm happy you hit a good though. I agree with you, that's my view on it too. I think people worry too much about the "meaning of life". Just exist, isn't that good enoguh? Try to hold a good and happy existance, help who you can, help what you can, and try to enjoy the ride, brotherJust exist, try your best to lead a good existance. And Rubin, I'm not Catholic. I believe what he said. It's not propoganda, in my opinion, please make an effort to be a little bit more open-minded when it comes to people discussing God or religion. It's a belief, a view BTW, I'm not trying to insult you or call you close-minded, just telling you how I feel about the subject
That True life is a misson, Everybody views life diffrent , you know what im saying, im not looking for people to agree, i just wanna see other people's views on life
i don't like that thinking because its too general for today's religions. whos giving the test? whats the results? thats what usually makes me unweary about life being a test, to me its to seek enlightenment....find the meaning for yourself. well, if anything, its fun doing so.
i like to think of what most people would call curses as tests, and a challenge. so yeah, i guess that analogy works in some cases.
It can be that too. For you, if you wish. Life, for me, is a time for learning and recreation. Life isn't a party. Life isn't a garden. Life is......... energy... power... creation.
Life seems like a long winded road, down which we travel, a journey of sorts. And it's different for everyone. We meet forks in the road where people split apart, change things in their lives, the road can be smooth and graceful, dry and scorching...wild and untamed. Kind of what a couple of other said here. It's what you make it, in the end.
How do you determine how 'good' someone is? Is a good person a person who does not 'sin'? What if a person does not steal the wallet of another person, and that other person uses the money in his wallet to buy a gun, and he then returns to his home and shoots his wife. Something bad results from something good. So has the person that did not steal been a good or bad person? Or is a person a good person because they follow popular moral codes? But which moral code is the right one? All different cultures have different codes of morality because they've adapted to different ways of life. You also have to ask yourself how we arrived at these standard moral codes. Nietzsche says that we honor morality in others because if a person is moral, he will not steal from YOU. If you teach the youth that if they steal they will be poked in the ass with a pitchfork for eternity- then the kid with the mohawk that bumps into you on the subway will not be taking your purse with him. So who came up with these things? 'God' or people that want to have social order? It's not some sort of devine thing, they are just societal rules that keep up from descending into chaos. I've always thought of moral codes as a shortcut of thought, too. There are different situations, and you can't just apply a standard set of 'rights' and 'wrongs' to EVERYTHING. I think that you should just use logic and think things through by yourself. I think that this allows you to realize what's right in that one particular situation. But again... how can you decide what's right or wrong? Better of two evils, right? Kerry is iffy, but we definately don't want Bush- so I'm supporting Kerry. My idea of 'logicking' my way through descisions is flawed, but it's at least a little bit more fitting than morality- so I'm 'logicking'. So in my mind: no. Life is not a way to prove to God that you are a good person because there is no such thing as a good person or bad person since bad and good are such a bitch to define. I think people in general just have delusions of grandeur when it comes to our purpose on this planet. And I'm not even going to get into the existence of God.
that reply was tops! good on ya, matey! good people need no law! (and by 'good' I mean... y'know... good!)
i hate how we are held down by laws and morals of different countries. we should be able to do what the soul desires, not what others want. because teamwork just sucks
i don't hate how others are held down, though I hope for their happiness, because that's a unique, interesting aspect of many cultures... I wanna go to China to see how you control a billion people, that's interesting. as for me, and you, I assume, i agree, faith in the soul is lacking...my soul will care for me if your soul will care for you... we have a great deal of freedom in the west, albeit elusive, but it's there, use it well, souls are generally appreciative, positive things. I'm sure there's more of this to discuss, but the Who just came on the radio and I'm gonna turn it up and recline and repose in my fat lazy chair.... don't get fooled again
Life one big test? I don't agree. This suggest that we either fail or past. In life you don't either fail or pass. You decide your results.
