That doesn't make sense. You don't need to conform to a system.
I agree it can be difficult to live it, especially in times of personal duress.

Perhaps not, but it will help ease your worry, and long-term it can eliminate all worry.
Not really. Only of personal relationships every now and then, but upon a bit of reflection I can always rid myself of that worry.
    I'm not the OP.
We are given values by society, our parents, teachers, friends, and so on. But there is no reason to adopt those values, unless you think they are good values. They still don't make life anymore meaningful, apart from they can make you feel as if your life has some meaning.
I found it very liberating, and not depressing at all. It took a lot of pressure off, and really enabled me to live my life for me, without worrying about social repercussions, like I did in the past.

You maybe need not conform. But you stated that " ... we can not do anything "wrong". There is no failure, only living, whichever way we please." and then "Do no harm, and otherwise do as you wish.".

Either you can do WHATEVER you want or not.

Nope. Don't know where I got that idea from

It was a hard hit for me when I finally fully acknowledged the fact.

Ah, I understand now. That last bit was more of an encouragement to the OP.

You can do whatever you want, but I would hope no one thought that gave them carte blanche to perform acts of violence or abuse. I would also hope that people's innate morals would make them not want to do harm.

not necessarily, sure you can if you go out into the middle of nowhere, but there are many rules and laws preventing us from doing some things we may like to do here... Say i wanted to leave my home and go live in a local park, bathe in the pond, live in the trees, and hunt the ducks for food, i'm pretty sure you would most definitely be kicked out of the park, i'm not saying i want to do that at all, i'm just saying we can't really do whatever we want, in society, and we aren't completely free. Now that can be changed if you just leave society all together, but that would be a very lonely life, who would go with you? everyone would think you're insane...

That is what I mean when I said that you can't have it both ways. If you say "whatever you want" it's whatever anybody wants. Which is anarchy.

Where I currently live they say that hope is always the last to die. It dies eventually though.

What if you said that life was pointless? Would they all agree with you?

    I thought so.

But you can still do whatever you want. Of course there are consequences, and so we need to apply prudency to our actions. That would also be true if you lived completely outside of society.

But you can't really leave society altogether; society is pretty much everywhere. What you can do is beat them at their own game; live within the system, without buying into the lie and bullshit. Organize your life within the parameters of society and use that system to your own advantage.

The first step is learning to think outside the box.

I'm not convinced. The box is all we have to think with. All we can do is juggle the contents around, make the box larger.

Not true. That would mean only repeating everything ad infinitum. But every now and then people DO think outside the box and bring about big changes.

Up until a certain date the earth was flat. :)
