My wife and I are retired and live as home nudist. We weren’t always like this, but have grown to embrace our nudist life. It’s empowering and brings us closer together. When we travel now, we seek out other clothing optional opportunities. This will be our second year to visit nudist campgrounds. Because of where we live most of the year we have no nudist like minded friends to associate with. That’s our story, what’s yours.

My beautiful companion and I have just moved to a new home and are looking so forward to the coming spring and summer so we can get out in the yard and enjoy the sunshine. I have been attending nude beaches since I was a young teen but 40 years later my partner and I enjoy them together. We now live only a couple blocks from a beautiful textile beach but unfortunately our options are limited for nearby nude beaches now.

So we plan our vacations around them and we have a private garden we hope to be enjoying real soon and take a few day trips to the official nude beaches over the summer. The rivers near our home provide us an opportunity to shed the clothes and spend a day as well but not always easy to find that right spot that mom and the kids aren't out for a picnic and stumble upon us. oops!

My nudist lifestyle started when I grew up in a nudist family. Since I moved out I have always had somewhere I can live the nudist lifestyle. I now have an apartment where I can be nude on the balcony and roof terrace, and a country farm cottage where I can be nude in and around my home. It is fairly remote and I can walk around the paths and woods here nude to the beach. A nudist beach is within walking distance, although a reasonable trek, so minimal swimwear is required.

I'm fortunate and have many nudist friends I socialize with either at my home or at theirs, and whenever on holiday (vacation) I always go somewhere I can sunbathe nude, whether it be an official nude beach or just clothing optional, or sometimes just somewhere remote where it really doesn't matter. I have friends who sail and love going nude sailing on their yacht with them.

Ever since I was young I enjoyed being nude. Walking in the woods nude, swimming nude in swimming holes. It was not allowed though in the home. When I married my upbringing and my wifes too made it a thing that wasn't done in the home. Our three sons were raised as textiles. I eventually got more comfortable as a home nudist when nobody was home. Once I retired I visited a nude beach with my wife out of curiosity. We were hooked. We revisited that beach numerous times in two years. My wife booked us at a nude resort for a couple days. We bought a second home nearby and became members. 5 years of keeping our nude life secret from our sons we decided we could no longer hold the truth. We disclosed to them and our daughter in law. not only did they accept but wanted to visit to see what it was all about. They decided to register at the resort. One who lives locally attends regularly. The others live out of state. All agree to it but they have made a family rule. Nobody is nude with another family member during visits. If we had adapted to the nude lifestyle when they were younger, things would be more relaxed. Kind of a regret now.

Growing up in typical, textile suburbia doesn't help much when you're ashamed of your body, yet feel trapped in your own clothes. So after college, and moving out on my own, I stopped wearing shoes. On the warmer days, I stopped wearing shirts. And when I got home, I stopped wearing clothes.

When I couldn't stand the long, cold, depressing winters of where I've always lived, I decided to move south. Suddenly, it was warm all the time, and my body loved it! I only really had to wear clothes at work, or to the store. I could just throw on a pair of shorts to walk the dog, took in a roommate who didn't mind that I preferred being naked, and even got to visit my first clothing optional beach.

Now I'm back up north, and can handle the cold a little better than I used to. I miss my endless Austin summers, but have discovered that there are several nudist resorts in driving distance from where I currently live! So I'm looking forward to the warmer months, when I can go travel and hopefully become a more social nudist.

My early years, around 10 to 16, I was probably viewed by my folks as mental as anything. Straight after school I'd whip off every thread of clothes and run around the backyard starkers. The neighbours took a dim view of this in view of the fact that puberty was well and truly in motion. The Catholic school which I attended was even more disturbed, so I left at aged 16 and turned Protestant. To say there were not happy is an understatement, but hey, I'm not here to please 'em!

There was no stopping me, way back then, or so many decades forward to the present. I maintain a nudist lifestyle, despite living in a notoriously cool and changeable climate in southern Australia. Our summer ends at midnight tonight, but it should remain warm up until late April. I haven't been out and about nudie so often this closing summer. We've had too many distractions to be fully immersed in naturism: drought, then apocalyptic bushfires (requiring US and Canadian firefighters to be flown in to assist with this), then the monsoonal rains from northern Australia came down (finally!) south, but "everything all at once", causing massive flooding! We didn't escape the floods way down south, often standing nude at the door as the hailstones pelted down and the gutters above overflowed. Then it turned cold. And the cycle repeated several times. It was a wild summer.

In the 1980s and early 1990s, the nudist beach was the place to be, initially riding 93km after work in the city, arriving 6 hours later just as the sun was going down (sensible enough to take my bike back home on the train!). Today, the nudist beach isn't so appealing: biting sandflies and a marked presence of undesirable elements such as perverts and creepy textiles wandering up and down the beach looking at nudists, and then those coming down to have sex in broad daylight. Besides that, the road is bloody rough on cars. So I'm now "retreating", for want of a better word, to being a full-time home/studio nudist with no beach trips, other than those which present opportunities when I travel, and I will be travelling a lot when winter comes in AUstralia: north by north-west to sunny places for shady types...

I was raised in a family where nudity outside of bathing and changing clothes was seen as bad. I seem to have a memory from when I was 8 or so of hearing about civilizations where they don't wear any clothes and thinking "I wish I was born there" but didn't really think about it after that. Until years later, about 13 I think I came across websites talking about nudism while looking for naked people (my parents did find out about this and I got in trouble). However, the idea of being naked publicly did resonate with me. I think I was 17 or so when I finally got up the never to try being naked around the house. Now I had to do it when no one else was home, which was often a challenge, aside form my parents, I shared a room with my brother and had a sister living there. However, any chance when no one else was hone, I would go around the house naked. Then when everyone in the house was asleep I would streak around the block outside my house. One night my brother must have been away at a friends house and my parents were asleep, as was my sister (or so I thought). So I walked down the hall to the bathroom completely naked. On my way back my sister was in the hall and we talked about something (it was so dark I don't know if she noticed I was naked). However, that did give me courage. I would start going naked around the house when she was home (although no one else in my family).

When I was around age nine my father worked a job distributing magazines to the store magazine racks. I would sit in his delivery truck at night and weekends looking at the kids mags. One day I came across a stack of mags that were pre Playboy. They were magazine on nudity. They included stories and pics on the nudist lifestyle. Pics of then called nudist colonies. Upon reading and seeing the fun these people were having ehanced my wanting to one day live that same life. Though I don't live in a nude resort now that I'm older, I do live next door to one and am a member.

ˆPuritans and wowsers would still sneer and call them "nudist colonies", even though the term is archaic and not really reflective at all of modern-era resorts, clubs and privately owned outfits. My big regret is that today there are fewer and fewer nudist gathering places -- clubs, resorts, groups and whatnot, than there once were as recently as the early 2000s.

Yes, that is true. It's a shame that today's generation doesn't want to participate in the lifestyle yet they have a more carefree and dangerous way of life. But we also live in a more judgemental time than we once did. Many are so governed by today's society of rules. Yet... Many of the nudist resorts have become lifestyle resorts to stay alive. Meaning more catering toward the swinging kind of life. Florida still has many of both and a few dedicated nude beaches and more being petioned to become legal. Florida has recognized the financial advantages of nudism.

I dont think today's generation has any problem with nudity. I think the problem stems from the older generations making everything fun illegal or socially unacceptable. youngsters today cant wait to become of age and start posting almost nude or full nudes on the internet. It is funny to me that the boomer generation well known for the 1970s hippie, flower power, free love, nudist movements have mostly become hypocrites and over controlling. If you see nudity / sex on a movie tv show or internet it is very rare that the younger generations care its the older people who are very judgmental

Spot on! Agree with you and I am a nudist boomer. I am a AANR membership and true nudist campground resort are fading away. Some are switching to swinger and swapper resorts to keep a revenue steam coming in.

while im in full agreement that nudity doesn't have to = sex. the whole line that nudist / naturist have put out over the years trying to convince everyone of that. Is part of the reason for the movement dying and mostly only having older members. If we want nudist groups to grow the only way your going to convince most horny younger people to show up is to allow sex. I have heard on many nudist forums on how most nudist clubs treat males with an erection well im sorry to say that if you want young males to join your going to have to tolerate a erection. as any one who owns a penis will tell you when your Yong and even old the penis has a mind of its own. Also the old school attitude that females arent just as horny as males needs to be put to rest. But the biggest problem is the religious croud making anything they find icky illegal needs to be stood up to once and for all contrary to opinion the USA is not a christian nation it was founded on secular laws time to go back to them

I think that is part of it, but I think part of the reason more young people aren't as involved in the resorts and such is on one hand money, they don't have as much as the retirees living off pensions or money they have saved that frequent the places, as well as a lack of effort to make activities that the younger generations would enjoy. The youth are not really interested in Pieckelball or hanging out with older people. I think there needs to be more of a deliberate effort to reach out to the college aged people., I have been to some resorts that have special events that do accomplish this (nude 5ks are rather popular with younger crowd), but then the rest of the time, it is the old people that stick around because it is back to the same old activities

All good answers on this topic. I know our resort give youth memberships at a cheaper rate and has singles weekends trying to get the youth more involved. There isn't the response you would hope.
Our son friends who are in their thirties know that my wife and I are nudists. No we don't bare ourselves to them. They have literally degraded us in our own home because of our lifestyle. They feel it's socially wrong, morally wrong and the girls call it disgusting. Yet most of all of them have been weekend bar fly one night stands since their early 20s, some were parents before leaving high school and some have cheated in their relationships and marriages. Yet they feel it's a normal way of social normalcy of today. But public nudity is wrong?

i think the PC. Culture along with things like #metoo and modern feminism has played a big role in young people being afraid of thing like nudism it is far to easy tody to have your life fuck over by just being accused of doing something even if you didn't the accusation alone can end you life

Me and my wife live as naturists here in Greece, our neighbour's did report us to the police but that was after we had lived here for 8 years, which even the police they was confused over, nothing happened to us he had his van taken off the road for a year the police take your plates off and hold them, so living as a naturist is fun is fun, are yes did tell the police we had lived here for 8 years naked when we can, which is all summer long plus, but we have our own pool so we can swim when ever we want and the bonus is we have pool sex when ever we want and live the way we like, naked, when its hot there is no other way and we love it.

Yes, that is disappointing. My wife & I see it happening at our local resort. It used to be a very nice, relaxing no-pressure place for anyone wanting to be a nudist. But in recent years, you can tell that the swingers have more of a foothold in the place and are taking over. They are now a significant portion of the population there, and they tend to congregate en masse in and around the pool. What bothers me most is that if you're not part of their group, you really feel as if you're not welcome. There is definitely a much more sexually-charged atmosphere there, along with the overt drunkenness and other behaviors. I'm not sure if it's mostly a weekend thing, or if it's happening all the time.
I'm afraid that it will start turning people off to the nudist lifestyle, including my wife. We love being nudists, we're just not swingers or hardcore partiers. I can see us either going on weekdays (when the crowds are smaller) or just looking for another place to go to, if the trend continues.

Shark, I see your point. We just returned from a 3 night stay at adult only campground. You do take your chances. We were accepted by all and we didn’t swing or swap. We didn’t see any open displays of it. However we do know it happens. I want to be respectful and say that we were not offended. It is true these campground resorts are not catering to the tennis, cards and horseshoe group.
The owner ask us a few questions about our level of lifestyle and we had a very good time.
You just have to not be offended and have adult fun.
