An entity is only more powerful than you if you give away your power to that entity.
But in the case of the ac, there is no such entity, so all you are doing is giving away your power to an illusion, an imaginary and non-existent being.

We were talking 'entities' here - not actual people. Antichrists and so on - like in those old Dennis Wheatly horror movies from the 60's.
Just believing in fantastical beings such as devils is a way of being controlled by the very thing we fear. Look at african medicine men - they can put a curse on someone, and if the person is a believer in the power of the priest, it can even lead to death. It will certainly deeply affect the person concerned. But an outsider, who is not a member of that culture with it's belief system won't be affected at all.
If you don't believe in anti-christs and devils they can't really have much effect on you. And those who accuse others of being instruments of such beings are just ridiculous. They are far more under the sway of their own illusions than the people they accuse.

A parent though does give away power to it's offspring. It is controlled by it's offspring.

Ha, I had to walk into the lake of fire. I got all worried about this (female) demon that was being forced into the lava, that it was gonna get hurt (didn't notice it was up to my waste at this point and I was fine).
