https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fs8guTJRbP4 American libertarianism is a corruption and distortion of what the rest of the world understands libertarianism to be, and a distortion of what was originally intended. It is a call to completely remove the last remaining barriers between corporate tyranny and the people, so that corporations would have absolutely no accountability... and it is in fact so obviously destructive that even Wall Street resists it because of the havoc it would wreak on the economy. Supporting it is in fact supporting the descent of a first world power into third world-style savagery far worse that any form of state-based oppression. True libertarianism is wholly egalitarian and anti-capitalist, with high degrees of organization and public ownership. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxbeyn2xMQE
From my underatanding libertarians are more laisse fair capitalist in their views. Def not socialist. I dont see how a libertarian socialist is possible. Take a libertarian and switch his views to socialist and you have a liberal
The government works hand-in-glove with the corporations, which is why the corporations already have no accountability. The merger of the corporations and the state has actually made it easier for the corporations to rape and pillage the public. This is essentially the definition of corporatism and why we have things like corporate welfare. These things would not exist without government intervention. To say the government protects us from corporate greed is completely asinine and ill-informed. It seems like some people are incapable of acknowledging the fact that the government is in the pockets of the corporations and vice-versa, because they act like somehow the government protects us from corporate corruption and that the answer to such corruption is therefore more government.
1. You either didn't read what I was saying, didn't watch the video, or you did and didn't understand it. Given what I know about every other political comment you've ever made, I'd be willing to say that you didn't even bother to read my original post, didn't bother to watch either video, and just saw this thread as an opportunity to say the same thing you always say, call everyone else a sheep/mindless follower, and berate people for the things they don't even believe. 2. Even if the government was completely a sham that only ever acted in the best interests of the corporations every single time, it STILL wouldn't mean that getting rid of government is going to suddenly make it harder for the corporations to exploit people. The infrastructure wouldn't fall away, their power wouldn't just disappear overnight, plus there would be nothing standing in their way except some very weak local governments with zero force to back them up. 3. Even if it DID make logical sense that the government is 100 percent responsible for every single monopoly that has ever existed in the world, you still wouldn't have an argument because nothing you ever post contains any sources or historical examples or articles or references to authors or books or anything. You've got this idea in your head and you repeat it over and over saying that you don't believe in anything, but you never actually build on it... you just call anyone who doesn't agree 'stupid' or 'asinine' or a 'sheep'. 4. Chomsky AGREES that the government is heavily influenced by the corporations. Everyone on this board who has ever posted anything thinks the corporations have too much influence on politics. I would even be willing to say that almost everyone in the WORLD thinks that the corporations have too much influence on government. Why do you keep pretending like it's some sort of deep, profound insight into the way the world works to say that corporations have influence on politics? It's not.
Exactly. It's a dupe that will prove most lethal to those who misguidedly think it's finally "their messiah!" - like obama his self, not on any real accomplishment or even fitness, but a phony "messiah" thing. That's like the dumbest people can get.
I never understood libertarian socialism either. I just assumed it was a make-believe label that leftists gave themselves to make their tyrannical statist beliefs and policies sound more appealing on paper.
His last sentence of the second video is what it's about: "If terms have lost their meaning, it becomes impossible to talk" Terms and conditions. The world is created and shaped by *language* (and the pen is mightier than the sword).
<< The world is created and shaped by *language* (and the pen is mightier than the sword).>> That's what the scud in DC thinks. I guess I could only add "Until the sword gets picked up", which looks to be getting nearer everyday....this conspiracy involves others and the whole world it seems like sometimes. Right now, Russians are already fighting for their causes, which is largely because of the greed of the uk and our "leaders". How long until we have to fight...or worse, ourselves? Not long enough I'm afraid ~
So, I mentioned terms and conditions. If you ever read the terms and conditions of a company or service provider, you'll see how much power they secure. Yahoo! is a good example. WE do not co-author those terms and conditions, we only agree or disagree. Most people don't read them and some people *can't* read them without having to actually study. Then, there are those who write them. People should remember that many politicians are lawyers. http://blog.lawpivot.com/2012/08/why-are-so-many-of-our-politicians-lawyers/ I searched Google for: define corporate tyranny The first page returns only definitions of tyranny. There seems to be no legally established definition of corporate tyranny. Legally define that term and you've got yourself some power. Otherwise, the law will not recognize it. That's what it's all about and how it works. Could be better, more accurate, to say .. Lawfully define.
