The old hometown looks the same As I step down from the train And there to meet me is my mama and papa Down the road I look and there runs Mary Hair of gold and lips like cherries It's good to touch the green, green grass of home Yes, they'll all come to meet me Arms reaching, smiling sweetly It's good to touch the green, green grass of home?????????????????????????
Aww, Liverpool has changed. It is a beautiful city that I love to visit. However, Hong Kong is very different from when you lived there Fitz. xxx
HK oh yes I keep intouch with friends on facebook and special pages devoted to HK - yes they are all pretending that everything is normal and the future will be very bright? people often ask me would you go back for a visit ? - my reply is always NO why would I it is not the HK I knew - I have a friend who wanders around the city and countryside with his camera and puts on utube presentations - that's as close as I need to get.I recently watched "Little boy Blue" true story of the killing of a young lad - this is not the Liverpool I grew up in - you may like the hotels and nightlife and theater shows - I am talking about living - try living there for a year and then report back - remember I still have cousins who have moved out of the inner city suburbs to more affluent areas with front and back gardens - there's a greater chance for me to visit da pool in the future than HK!!!
That is wonderful that you keep in touch with friends from HK. Liverpool I could not actually live their. But the whole of the UK has changed since you left. The London I knew as a child, is changed for ever.
so tell me this green and pleasant land called England or more accurate UK has it changed for the better ? really or are there now new ghettos around? and is multiculturalism working well? and how easy is it to get a doctors appointment these days? mind you penelopes keiths show discovery hidden british villages is adorable - now I could come back to one of those and wallow for a while but doctors would still be a prob heh?
YES very true. Most Doctor's appointments are now by phone if you can get past the receptionist! The UK has always embraced multi-cultures. I have no problem with that at all. I have little hidden villages in the New Forest. Anyway, how are you and yours in Australia?
all well new babies being produced so great grandaddy now I don't know where to put all the cigars!! eldest coming over next weekend to spoil me with Thai delights and more cigars - it's a slow and meandering lifestyle that's easy to get used to - and sits well with me I just get a yen for the old places sometimes but thats's just me bein silly! how many times can ya see Rome or Paris heh?
Still smoking those Cuban ladies eh? Glad you are with family. Good we never lost touch. I still miss Pugsy. Xxx
yes the old town just ain't the same - me,Jem and Spits and fruitcake occasionally and that's it - everything might look bright and jazzy but it ain't got that old shoe feel.
