Update: my part-time job offer came through. I have not yet been paid, but the reloadable card where I will receive compensation is established. I have been in contact with the employer as recently as yesterday. I'm a personal assistant for the vice president of international something or other - he's a busy executive with tasks that need to be completed throughout the day. I am compensated weekly. And if I fail to find a full-time counterpart, it doesn't look like I'll have to pay any taxes. But I'm looking... I have applications out everywhere! I found a staff accountant position at Guitar Center, but I don't think they'll give it to me. I will provide several good personal references for them though because I know the staff from when I took lessons a couple years ago - I actually know one of the store managers, and of course both my instructors; if they remember me.
I have a good feeling about your burning persistence SC. This last quarter or the next quarter will be your quarter.
“An old lady went to visit her dentist. When it was her turn, she sat in the chair, lowered her underpants, and raised her legs. The dentist said, "Excuse me, but I'm not a gynecologist." "I know," said the old lady. "I want you to take my husband's teeth out.”
Thanks. I hate to be a nickel and dime-er, but I desperately await this first payday and hope there are many to follow. The whole arrangement is rather impromptu and I fear I am easily replaced. I only hope it's inconvenient enough to try and find someone that my employer will be discouraged from doing so!
