Alright a quiz - why do the Russians celebrate the anniversary of their revolution on 7th November when it is named the Great October Revolution ???
Because of calender convention basically The change from old style calender to new style is the reson why.
Correct !!! The Great October Socialist Revolution took place on 25th October 1917, but Russia at that time was using the Julian calendar. The following year when Russia fell into line with the rest of the world and adopted the Gregorian calendar the anniversary became 7th November and has been celibrated on that date ever since.
