I think we have lamb for Easter sometimes. It's not bad. I can remember a dinner when we had lamb shanks recently. I don't remember when it was though. Sometime in the last year, lol! Either before or after I stopped eating meat; I may have made an exception for my aunt's cooking. She goes to great lengths* Clearly @Candy Gal does as well! So cool
Funnily enough I am not that fussed on Lamb Grand. Today Wifey is doing a lovely Roast Chicken and boiled/roast potatoes with lots of veggies and some grave. Followed by a lovely Chocolate and Almond cake she is doing. My mouth is dribbling already! PS The Chicken was going Cheap!
It is quite expensive in the UK. I prefer New Zealand lamb is sweeter than the British. I also often eat vegetarian food, I vary my diet.
I'm fully into vegetarian, though sometimes it's not part of the meal being served so I vary too. I do what's called plant-based. It's supposed to be really healthy, but I could do a better job of varying protein sources and things like that. I tend to eat the same exact thing from day to day; which you're not supposed to do, but I make it work.
Yep. I used to eat trail mix, but it's hell on the weight loss. A handful of nuts packs a real handful of calories... But they are good for you. Peanuts, almonds, cashews, walnuts... They all have protein, but also they're highly caloric so it's best to watch out. It might be better to have them as a garnish in a salad rather than eating handfuls when you want to snack.
You're lucky... I made quite a habit of constantly eating; though I'm now losing the weight. LOL I really liked eating for a long time; even when I was little.
I know the traditional way is to serve the lamb with mint sauce but - I prefer an alternative - marinade the joint in: 1/2 Pt orange juice, 2 tblsp soy sauce, 2 tblsp Worcester sauce. 2 tsp dried Rosemary and 6 cloves of Garlic (crushed & chopped). When ready to cook, lift joint out of marinade and dry roast for appprox 35 - 45 mins. Lift out of oven, strain off excess fat, pour marinade over joint and return to oven. Baste joint frequently until cooked through.
I think as time goes on, you will simply be able to say to yourself I am full, even if you leave food on your plate.
I just had a message from a friend, he is visiting tomorrow, we have not seen him for months. He was asking about going out for a meal. I said I would rather have a take away to be safe.
That seems intelligent, @Candy Gal. With a coronavirus pandemic, it probably isn't a good idea to go out. I'm guilty because I still go to Starbucks; albeit with gloves on and a mask. I just sketch out/trip on the handle-touching (doors) and use hand sanitizer that they have there on my gloves at least some of the time. Yeah. With sitting at a table you take off your mask to eat. It's a chance I'd just as soon not take.. lol. I think you're wise.
Warren Buffett spent $6.5 billion to help Mars acquire Wrigley during the financial crisis. Here's the story of how he made the candy deal happen. | Markets Insider
I also thought that maybe we could not even sit together? I just don't know what is happening in the UK these days.
