An ideal can be a noun as well.

Idea is a thought you have, something you come up with, a concept.
Ideal is kinda like optimum. An ideal situation would be the best situation for something. Someone's ideals are kinda like their values.

I always fuck up the difference between affect, and effect ;(

 

Well affect is the verb. Ummmm maybe you could remember it as a verb being an action, and action + affect both start with 'a'

An effect is the result of something...you could say it's the end point. So both end + effect start with 'e'


If this affects you it will have an effect on you.
