oh yeah, city has a free mulch site. so we are going to start mulching the yard, we talked to the compliance officer and she says raised beds a re fine (i already knew that) and that really the city just wants weeds kept down and things to look nice. i figure once the front yard is done and established we can grease the wheels at city hall with fresh vegetables, and maybe get permitted for chickens. bawk bawk bawk.

We were just talking about needing topsoil. We need raised beds.

We live on the border of a county named "Rockdale". It's named that for a reason. There are tons of granite outcroppings in this area and our whole yard is a huge slab of sandstone. I shit you not. Anywhere you dig down 4-6 inches you'll hit rock. We always have to use the mattock to plant out here.

you may do some research on apple cider vinegar (unfiltered, organic, with the mother still floating about) and blackstrap molasses medicinal drinks. they are supposed to be good for kidney issues, and for lady problems. it might be useful, im sorry you are in pain :(

2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 ½ tablespoons of blackstrap molasses 2 cups of boiling water poured over ice.

as to soil, colorado used to be underwater, so there is a lot . of. clay. and rocks. clay and rocks. very little organic matter. thats part of why we are doing raised beds too. it also helps to lengthen the growing season. we are also planning to incorporate the back to eden method, though the videos are very god-this and god-that, it seems like a good system. this is the link to the film, and da youtube channel of a guy that visits and interviews the guy and checks it out all the time. worth the watching, the guy answers a lot of questions. he grows so much food he gives most of it away.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I can't believe how fucked up your medical system is down there. Orison - you should legally marry rolling and move up here for some medical care. Although medications aren't covered here either...

piss on it. I cant even see a doctor unless I have some medical assistance. shitty psych and heart doctors both filled out the forms stating it was necessary. yet here we go with the run around. i dont care anymore.. cant wait to leave this earth..

when we renewed our plan at work the H.R. guy was saying that because of obamacare there was new charges and forced them to increase the amount out of our check because with obamacare the premiums went up and because of obamacare they had to pass off the extra costs.

bitch please...i know costs were going to go up because of obamacare but dont try to blame that on the cost increase. i have been covered by my job for 13 of the last 14 years (minus 1 year on unemployment) and my health insurance cost went up every single year. so dont try to tell me that obamacare is the only reason it went up this year.

They always want to blame obamacare... In reality they are more worried about their own fat wallets that anything else. Obamacare is just a scapegoat.

Very true. Insurance is a crooked business where you take people's money then when they need it, charge them even more to maintain your insane profit margins. To me it comes down to the rights defending of the "job creator". It must be Obama's fault they are gouging people.

Insurance investigators... They can tell if it's an act of god, but can't tell if my new roof is new or not.
